Police, family looking for missing 12-year-old Greeley girl‎

If you drive past the Wilson apartment on 28th Street in west Greeley, you can see April Wilson or her son, Mackenzie, watching out the door.

Watching for Kayleah.

The 12-year-old girl left her home Sunday afternoon to go to a friend's birthday party and never arrived. She didn't show up at the pick-up location, and she hasn't come back home in two days. Greeley police issued a bulletin Tuesday with Kayleah Wilson's photo on it, asking for help in finding the girl.

FBI Joins Search For Missing Greeley Girl‎
Kayleah Wilson Vanished Sunday Afternoon Walking To Party

GREELEY, Colo. -- The FBI has joined the search for a missing 12-year-old Greeley girl who mysteriously disappeared four days ago while walking to a friend's birthday party.

Kayleah Wilson left her home in the 2800 block of 28th Street at about 12:15 Sunday, crossing U.S. 34 heading toward the Greeley Mall. She never arrived at the party.

Greeley police have been searching for Wilson since she was reported missing Sunday night and don't know if she ran away or if she was abducted. Police said there's no evidence to point in either direction.

Step-dad: Kayleah may have gone to California‎

Wilson said he has had no contact with Kayleah for the past four years, but he wasn't aware of any problems she may have had with her mother or anyone else.

He said he couldn't dismiss the idea that Kayleah may have gone to California to be with her biological father.

"He's tried to get her to come out there," Wilson said. "It could be possible."

Search Expands For Missing Greeley Girl‎

GREELEY, Co. -- The search for a missing Greeley girl has been expanded at the same time investigators admit they have no solid leads as to whether she is a runaway or has been abducted.

About 40 FBI agents and Greeley police investigators are now assigned to the case.

They have expanded the search area around the apartment where she lives, done foot searches and interviewed neighbors, family and friends for the second and third time.

FBI Presence Increases In Search For Missing Girl‎

Investigators with the FBI evidence recovery team spent most of the day inside the apartment where Kayleah lives collecting evidence to find any clues to her whereabouts. police say that several new members of the FBI have joined the investigation including behavioral experts as well as missing persons specialists, but still so far nothing. Stephanie Sanchez Kayleah's neighbor says its just a strange situation.

Kayleah Wilson case: Search evokes 25-year-old dashed hopes‎

As days go by and the disappearance of 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson continues to be a mystery, it brings back haunting memories for the police officers involved in another child disappearance in Greeley 25 years ago.

On Dec. 20, 1984, Jonelle Matthews, a 12-year-old middle school student, disappeared from her west Greeley home. She has never been found.

FBI and police to hold news conference today on missing teenager‎

GREELEY - A Federal Bureau of Investigation spokesman says the FBI and Greeley Police will hold a joint news conference Friday to discuss the search for 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson.

FBI spokesman Dave Joly tells 9NEWS that the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit from Washington is in Greeley to assist in the search for the missing girl.

Wilson's mother says she vanished Sunday afternoon while walking to a friend's house for a birthday party.

Investigators say Wilson left her house around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday to take the eight-to-10 block walk to the friend's house.

Greeley Police say they believe Kaylea was going to meet a friend and they were going to walk to the party together. But she never met up with the friend or made it to the party.
