Mother of Missing Children Makes Plea
Corrine Heathcock asks for whoever who has her children to come forward.
When Corrine Heathcock of Mobile talks about her children, Natalie and Chase Deblase, she lights up like any other mother.
"My daughter would talk to anybody. I mean, we would be in Wal-Mart store anywhere and she would talk to anybody. My son was a little womanizer. He loved women, any age.", says Heathcock.
Natalie turned five years old last month. Chase turns four this month. But, Heathcock hasn't seen them for more than a year.
She says when she and John Deblase divorced, he took the children. "I didn't have a steady place to live, I didn't have a job..I didn't have no way to take care of them..otherwise...I would have had them", she says.
Heathcock says when she tried to see the children, their father picked fights with her and stopped answering the phone. She didn't know he had moved to Louisville, Kentucky until police came to her home 2 weeks ago and told her they believe the kids may be dead. The children's stepmother told police she thinks John Deblase killed them. "Is he capable? Anybody's capable..but, would he do it..I don't know", says Heathcock who is preparing herself for the worst. In her heart, she says she believes her children are still alive, "that they were either given to a stranger or somebody and if you have my children or come forward..or any information...just. I want my children found".

Father being charged in deaths of Alabama children
Police believe they found the skeletal remains of a 3-year-old Alabama boy and were charging his father with two counts of murder as they prepared to search for the man's missing young daughter, also believed dead, authorities said Wednesday.

Dad Admits Burying Missing Children
A father whose missing children are believed to be dead told investigators he buried one of them in Mississippi and the other in Alabama but says it was their stepmother who killed them, police said.
But she is pointing the finger at him.
Mobile police say John Deblase, 27, has admitted burying his two children - 5-year-old Natalie and 3-year-old Chase - in March and June.
DeBlase was being held on $206,000 bond.
He is charged with child abuse and corpse abuse.

Warrants detail abuse of Ala. kids buried by dad
An Alabama man charged with murdering his two young children allowed the kids' stepmother to torture them by binding the little boy and girl with duct tape, stuffing one in a suitcase and forcing the other to stand in a corner all night, according to arrest warrants.
John DeBlase, 27, is charged with two counts of murder, child abuse and corpse abuse. Scattered bones and a skull found in the woods of rural Mississippi on Wednesday are believed to be the remains of his 3-year-old son Chase. Authorities are still searching for the remains of 5-year-old Natalie DeBlase.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said the bones had been taken from the woods and were examined Thursday in Mississippi.
"It is consistent with the child, so we do believe that it is him," Byrd said. "The remains have now been released to Alabama."
Byrd said the bones will now be examined further for positive identification and a cause of death. He said the visual inspection of the bones by Mississippi authorities did not reveal how the child was killed.

Woman Suspected Of Abusing DeBlase Children Expected In Mobile Today
A woman accused of torturing her common-law husband's two children, who were later killed and dumped in rural Mississippi and Alabama, was booked into an Alabama jail early Monday.
Heather Leavell-Keaton, who was extradited from Kentucky, is being held without bond, a sergeant at the jail said.

Candlelight Vigil To Be Held For Children

Police: New charges for girlfriend of father arrested in kids' deaths
Police have ratcheted up charges against the girlfriend of an Alabama father, days after searchers found fragmented remains they say are of the second of the man's young children, tossed along the side of a remote highway.
Mobile, Alabama, police spokesman Christopher Levy said Monday that Heather Keaton would be charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and two counts of abuse of a corpse -- one count each for the deaths of Jonathan DeBlase, 3, and his sister Natalie, 4.

Woman pleads not guilty to abusing slain Ala. kids

A woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that she abused and tortured her common-law husband's two young children, who authorities say were killed and dumped in the woods of rural Alabama and Mississippi.
District Judge Charles McKnight also ordered Heather Leavell-Keaton, 22, held on $206,000 bond. She faces two charges of aggravated child abuse and two counts of corpse abuse.
Wearing a brown jumpsuit, Leavell-Keaton softly told the judge she didn't understand the proceeding. Her attorney was not present. McKnight then explained to Leavell-Keaton what was going on.
A preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 4 for Leavell-Keaton and John DeBlase, 27, the father of the two children. He is being held on murder charges, with bond set earlier at $500,000.
