Sources Say • Kyron's case takes grim turn‎

This grim truth is finally official: Investigators don’t believe the Kyron Horman case will have a happy ending. The admission came last weekend when the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office used cadaver dogs to search several wooded sites north and west of Portland. Until then, investigators had not publicly disputed claims by Kyron’s parents that the missing boy was being held captive somewhere. Now it’s painfully clear investigators do not believe he’s alive.

Kyron has been missing since June 4 of last year. Investigators did not find any trace of him during the weekend, but are expected to resume searching the properties in the foreseeable future.

No one has been named as a suspect, or even as a person of interest in the case, although Kyron’s parents believe stepmother Terri Horman is involved.

Van Zeben: I've had so many images of what may have happened that awful day. I think someone did a brilliant job of covering their tracks. I think someone took him and did who knows what. It was planned and definitely premeditated.

Desiree Young has Valentine message for son Kyron Horman‎

Desiree Young, the mother of missing Kyron Horman, created a Valentine message for her son, missing since last May from Skyline Elementary School.

Her message included some personal thoughts on her own Valentine's Day memories and her steadfast hope that Kyron will be found.

This holiday will be tough just as the others have. Valentine’s Day has always been our special day. When I was growing up my Mom always bought me some sweet little memento like a heart necklace or something special that was just for me, it made me feel loved and extremely blessed. I decided when I had kids that I would do the same. Each year I get something special for Kyron because he's my Valentine. I placed a Valentine for him at the Wall of Hope in hopes that he can feel my love for him, from wherever he is. I am deeply saddened that he is not here with me.

Kyron I love you very much, I miss you and I want you home. I have a hole in my heart that will not be fixed until you come home. I will never give up, I will keep searching until you are in my arms again. God is looking over you and protecting you until I get there, so be brave, I am coming.

The police and search & rescuers are still looking for you, they will not stop until you are found. We have adopted them into our family and they feel it is a personal mission to bring you home to us and they will not stop until you are home. I know that we are getting closer every day, I dream about finding you and I know they will bring you home.

Law Enforcement continues to brief us regularly on the case, the investigation continues to march on, they will solve this case and bring Kyron home.

Sheriff to update Kyron Horman investigation‎

Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton will brief commissioners on the search for missing Portland boy Kyron Horman and the state of the investigation next week.

The 7-year-old Skyline Elementary student disappeared from the school on Friday, June 4, 2010.

Staton and Lieutenant Ned Walls will brief officials next Thursday and will not ask for any increase in funding for the investigation.

Kyron's Mom Targets Terri Horman Directly‎

The mother of missing Kyron Horman is delivering perhaps her strongest message yet, and it's directed right at the 8-year-old boy's stepmother.

The Portland boy has been missing since June 4th.

Saturday, his family and friends launched a new search in Roseburg. Kyron's biological mother, Desiree Young, has pointed her finger at Terri Horman all along. Now she's asking Roseburg residents to do the same.

"We're handing out new fliers that ask the question Terri needs to be asked, 'Where's Kyron?,'" Young told a room full of reporters Saturday morning at a Roseburg hotel.

For the first time, it's not just Kyron's bright smile posted on fliers that have circulated around the state, but his stepmother's face as well.

"I think it's at a critical point in the case," Young said.

Police have not identified Terri Horman as a suspect, or even a person of interest, but that's not stopping Young from posting what some say resembles a 'wanted' photo next to her son's missing photo.

Kyron's mom believes her son is dead‎

It was a statement she never wanted to make, and she's still not completely sure. But for the first time since her son vanished more than eight months ago, Desiree Young conceded that Kyron Horman is probably dead.

That's what Kyron's mother told KOBI-TV's Larry Miller Saturday, as she pressed her campaign to pressure Kyron's step-mother into cooperating with police.
