Kyron Horman absentee bill to become law
Oregon schools will soon be required to notify parents before the end of the school day when a child is absent.
House Bill 3197 has been approved by the House and Senate and just needs to governor’s signature to become law, which was expected.
A Medford-area lawmaker sponsored the bill after Kyron Horman disappeared. The boy, who was 7 at the time, vanished after going to a science fair at his school at 8:45 a.m.
Kyron was last seen at 9 a.m. on June 4, but his family did not learn that he was marked absent from class until he failed to get off the school bus at 3:45 p.m. Police said that likely hurt their search efforts.

Horman divorce proceedings delayed
A Portland judge has approved attorneys' requests to delay Kaine and Terri Horman's divorce case......
.... Because of the intense media scrutiny of Kyron's disappearance, lawyers for Terri Horman contend that divorce proceedings between the two cannot continue in a fair manner.
The couple's divorce proceedings have been delayed until the end of March 2012.

November 12, 2011: Run for Kyron 1K-5K-10K Run/Walk
On November 12, 2011, the Run for Kyron at Heron Lakes Golf Course offers five ways to get involved in bringing Kyron Horman home. Benefitting Kyron Horman's awareness/search fund and presented by Uberthons, this event has a great kid's race on the 10th Fairway, a step into fitness 1K, professionally timed 5K and 10K races, and multiple volunteer opportunities. This race is a chance for runners and walkers to join the community in supporting the Horman family and to bring continued awareness to finding Kyron.
