Breakdown of Adkins Inconsistencies Told To Investigators‎

Law enforcement officials pieced together a time-line of who was where on Dec. 27, but for Shawn Adkins, things didn't add up.

The affidavit says Adkins told authorities numerous inconsistencies. For example, the affidavit states Adkins told investigators he was fired from his job in Snyder the morning Hailey went missing. His employer says that was untrue and Adkins left his job at 6:10 a.m. without saying a word. The employer said Adkins was a good employee and that he hadn't been fired.

Adkins also said when he left work he headed to Big Spring, 50 miles southwest of Snyder, but phone records show he wasn't in the Big Spring area until 9:30 a.m. that morning, which leaves a nearly three hour gap in his whereabouts.

A man named as a person of interest in the case of a missing 13-year-old girl from West Texas says he is not responsible for her disappearance.

Twenty-five-year-old Shawn Adkins tells The Associated Press exclusively he would "never ever do anything to harm Hailey" Dunn, whose mother reported her missing Dec. 28 in Colorado City.

Adkins said Friday that he prays daily for Hailey's return.

Rumors Continue to Swirl Around Hailey Dunn Case‎

Rumors are now swirling around Scurry County about the discovery of a bone by a search party that was out looking for 13-year-old Hailey Dunn.

According to Sheriff Darren Jackson, with the Scurry County Sheriff's Department, the rumors have been going around the community of Dunn for a few days. He tells NewsWest 9 that no human remains have been discovered.

Trooper Sparky Dean with the Department of Public Safety tells NewsWest9 he has only heard about the possible discover of a bone from the media and not official sources.

The rumors come in the midst of an area wide search for Hailey Dunn, 13, of Colorado City. The cheerleader has been missing since December 27. Right now, investigators say they have several persons of interest in the case. Shawn Adkins, Dunn's mother's boyfriend, is one of those police say is a person of interest.

NEW FACTS IN HAILEY DUNN CASE: New Document Shows What Was Seized From Vehicle

Electric tape, evidence filters and debris on a sterile sheet were among the items seized from the trunk of Billie Jean Dunn's car last Friday.

KTXS reported the seizure of that car on Jan. 7.

Inventory sheets from investigators have been returned to the Mitchell County Judge Ray Mayo. These were obtained today by KTXS through the Freedom of Information Act.

Cadaver Dogs Searching Abilene Landfill For Hailey Dunn‎

Search authorities are using cadaver dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to search Abilene's landfill north of town Friday in its ongoing search for missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

A number of search personnel could be seen moving about at the landfill via the KTXS tower camera, also located on the northern edge of Abilene.

Abilene Police confirmed that members of the Criminal Investigation Division are at the landfill, assisting in the search for Hailey Dunn.

Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer confirmed to KTXS News that cadaver dogs for the TDCJ were being used.

He also confirmed that this was not the first search of an area landfill. Searchers have also gone through the Colorado City landfill as well as others – as part of their ongoing search for Hailey.

Holding fast to the hope that he'll find his "beautiful girl" alive, somewhere, Clint Dunn spent the past week chasing leads from Snyder to Odessa and doing everything he can think of to find his missing daughter, Hailey Dunn.

Like the words printed on a shirt he often wears, the father of missing 13-year-old Colorado Middle School student is "on a mission."

"I'm exhausted," Dunn said late in the week, after searching for his daughter in the Midland-Odessa area for two days. "It's frustrating, staying over there for two days and you're driving home and you don't have her. I'm gonna go right back, and I'm not going to give up."

No Sign Of Hailey Dunn, Residents Turn To Power Of Prayer‎

Twenty days into the disappearance of 13-year-old Colorado City girl Hailey Dunn, her community is determined to keep a positive attitude, and many are turning to prayer for answers.

Temple Christian Church was filled with music and praise like any other Sunday, but on Sunday they say their thoughts are plagued with someone missing from the service.

"Hailey, she came to this church and she studied and she learned, and I think that she had Jesus in her life," said Machelle Strain, who attends Christian Temple.

The disappearance of Hailey has rattled this close-knit community and with so many unanswered questions, many are turning to prayer.

Hailey Dunn: Possible cadaver dog 'hits' at Texas landfill that's now closed

There is word that cadaver dogs "hit" on "possible scent recognitions" during a search for missing Texas teen, Hailey Dunn, at an Abilene landfill Friday.

The gates at the Allied Waste landfill in Abilene were locked Saturday, with a sign that read "Closed" - Friday's search for the missing 13-year-old Colorado City teen was suspended there and did not resume Saturday.

Officials did not specify why the search was halted, KTXS News reported. There was no word of if or when the search at the landfill would resume.

More than a dozen law enforcement personnel, including cadaver dogs trained to search for decomposing bodies, searched the landfill for any remains or evidence related to the case. Abilene Police joined in the search.

Hailey Dunn disappearance Sheriff's posse joins search
No new info, gave locals peace of mind

When John Curtis left Abilene Sunday morning for Dunn, he was hoping his search would come up empty.

Curtis, the president of the Taylor County Sheriff's Posse and 35 other members of the group, spent most of the day on Sunday searching parts of Scurry County, south of Dunn, for clues in the disappearance of Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.

"I prayed this morning that if we didn't find her, that means that she's still alive. That's what we're all hoping for," Curtis said.
