Missing Autistic Child

LINDALE - The Smith County Sheriff's Department is searching for a missing child just north of Lindale.

Authorities said the girl is 11-years old and believed to be autistic.

She went missing around 7:30p.m. Wednesday on County Road 4122 near Old Dallas-Shreveport Road.

A Department of Public Safety helicopter was called in overnight to assist with thermal imaging. It has since returned to the metroplex after finding nothing from the air.
