Search renews on Sauvie Island for Kyron‎

The day after the mother of missing child Kyron Horman made a sudden and emotional plea for help to get the reward increased, searchers once again converged on an outer Northwest Portland island that has been a focal point of the search since the 8 year old's disappearance.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Lt. Mary Lindstrand confirms that search and rescue teams from eight Portland-area agencies are conducting a search on Sauvie Island for Kyron Horman, the 8-year-old boy who went missing after being dropped off at Skyline Elementary School on June 4.

Lindstrand stressed that this search “is not the result of any new leads but the sheriff’s desire to be thorough in their investigation.”

Kaine Horman Glad Searchers Following-Up On Sauvie Island‎

... On this balmy Sunday, searchers were instructed not to talk to the media or discuss their tactics. However, we did overhear one searcher with a dog – one of five dogs sniffing over Sauvie Island Sunday – say "Bones, we're looking for bones."

However, no one within the investigation will confirm what it is they're exactly looking for. They will only confirm there aren't any new tips making them spend the weekend searching this water-riddled island.

"By following up on and being thorough here we are getting closer," said Lt. Mary Lindstrand with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. "I can't give you any specifics on when there will be a resolution, but it's steps. Step by step and we've got to make sure we get all those steps and be as thorough as possible."

New Developments in the Kyron Horman Case‎

Searchers were back on an outer northwest Portland island on Sunday, looking for clues about where the missing 8-year-old might be.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says searchers don't have new information -- they're just doing a thorough search.

About 160 searches have particpated in Saturday and Sunday's efforts on Sauvie Island.

It's been a focal point in the past in the search for the boy who disappeared four months ago.

"They all have that mission, and that mission is to bring Kyron home, and that's part of what we are going to do," said Lt. Mary Lindstrand from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office hopes to carry out another search of areas of Sauvie Island next weekend in hopes of finding Kyron Horman, who disappeared four months ago.

“It depends on the weather and who we can get,” said Lt. Mary Lindstrand, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. “Most of the resources on the weekend are volunteers.”

Ex-Detective Weighs In On Renewed Kyron Search‎

Four months after Kyron Horman's disappearance, search teams got back to work over the weekend.

Hundreds of volunteers and investigators returned to Sauvie Island to comb through brush and back yards in an effort to find clues in the boy's disappearance. Investigators said there were no new tips or leads that prompted them to go back to the area, and they won't say whether they found evidence.

Sauvie Island has been a focus of the search since Kyron vanished from his school June 4, but former detective C.W. Jensen said he thinks the renewed effort might not be a good sign for the case.

Judge to hear motions from missing boy's father‎

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- An Oregon judge will hear two pending motions on Thursday from the father and stepmother of a boy missing since June.

Kaine Horman says he suspects his wife, Terri Horman, to be involved in the disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman.

Kaine Horman has filed for divorce and a restraining order against her.

Judge Keith Meisenheimer will hear Kaine Horman's motion questioning the source of money Terri Horman used to pay her lawyer, Stephen Houze, an amount he claims totals $350,000.

Terri Horman's attorneys deny she paid that much.

Report: Search In Kyron Horman Case Linked To Stepmom's Cell Phone‎

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Portland television station says the weekend search of an island for evidence in the disappearance of Kyron Horman is linked to cell phone pings from the area the day Kyron disappeared.

KOIN-TV reported the pings were from cell phone of Terri Horman, Kyron's stepmother.

About 160 searchers hunted for clues on Saturday and Sunday on Sauvie Island, northwest of Portland.

Sauvie Island has been a focal point in the past in the search for the 7-year-old boy who went missing four months ago.
