J.J. says he saw the car on TV, and then knew his daughter, Aja, was dead; he spotted her blue jacket with the pink lining in the video.

A short time later, J.J. and his wife invited an OSBI agent into their home and she confirmed what he already knew to be true.

Two bodies were found next to the car and there is no reason to believe they are not those of Aja and Lester Hobbs. But J.J. says he knew this would be the outcome; he says he felt it.

Investigation Continues After Bodies of Aja Johnson, Lester Hobbs Possibly Found in Norman

The bodies were found Monday afternoon after a 911 caller reported an abandoned vehicle in a heavily wooded area in Norman. Police think they belong to Lester Hobbs and Aja Johnson, but are waiting for official confirmation from the state Medical Examiner's office, Police Spokeswoman Jennifer Newell said.

The man who found the car and called 911 already knew there was a car in the area. A surveyor hired by land owner Jerry Spotts had reported seeing a white car in the area two weeks ago.

He was exploring his land Monday when he noticed the same white car.

A tow truck removed the car from the scene and towed it to a Norman police building.

After the car was removed, police officers spread out and searched the area once again, looking for clues, anything, that might help the investigation.

"You don't want to miss anything," Jennifer Newell said. "We don't' want to treat this like an open-and-shut case."

Aja Johnson case: Amber Alert canceled after bodies of Aja Johnson and Lester Hobbs found (video)

An Amber Alert has been canceled for Aja Johnson after authorities found two bodies near the car driven by Lester Hobbs in Norman, Oklahoma yesterday. Though a positive identification has not yet been made, authorities suspect that the body of Aja Johnson was found inside the vehicle and the body of Lester Hobbs was found outside of the vehicle nearby.

NORMAN — When Jerry Spotts set out Monday afternoon to check on property that belongs to his wife’s family near Lake Thunderbird, he didn’t anticipate coming upon a crime scene.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Aja Johnson's mother and father each went to court to prevent Lester Hobbs from seeing the 7-year-old girl, his stepdaughter. Both failed, and now she's dead.

Tonya Hobbs told the court in August she feared that Hobbs, her estranged husband, would crush the girl's skull with a hammer. J.J. Johnson, who had temporary custody of his daughter, told a judge in November that Hobbs had already hurt the girl and he feared he would do it again.

Authorities continue investigation of two bodies found in Norman‎

A day after two bodies believed to be those of a murder suspect and the 7-year-old girl he is accused of kidnapping were found in a heavily wooded area near State Highway 9 and 108th Avenue SE, investigators continue to comb the area for evidence.

"Police and OSBI agents will be back at the scene today," Norman Police Master Officer Jennifer Newell said Tuesday.

Medical Examiner's Officer Confirms Identities of Bodies‎

OKLAHOMA CITY – The State Medical Examiner's office has confirmed that the two bodies found in rural Norman on Monday are of Lester Hobbs and 7-year-old Aja Johnson.

The cause of death is still under investigation.

Investigators used finger prints to identify Hobbs and dental records to confirm Aja's identity.

Aja Johnson's dad says note revealed killer's ire‎

J.J. Johnson said Wednesday he learned of the note’s contents from investigators, adding that it only revealed the true character of his daughter’s killer.

"Lester went on in the note ... blaming all these people for his problems — Tonya, myself, his parents,” said Johnson, Aja’s father. "He named off all these people. Everyone but himself. What a coward.”

Now Johnson is left to bury his daughter.
