Shannon remains in care over Easter.
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1310216,00.html
This voluntary care, does this mean it is Shannon's desire to stay in care or does it mean that her mother has 'allowed' Shannon to stay in care?
I'd be surprised if Shannon goes home at all.
Surely in most cases psychologists would be recommending the child be in familiar surroundings to help aid recovery?

KJ, think we'll have to wait and see. Although it isn't easy, it would be the right thing for now as gentle questioning of her is going on. She may return, she may not.

HIPPY
I thought the same as you KJ after reading this article this morning. Also - the suspect is charged with kidnap - not - abduction. What is the difference. Does it mean Shannon went of her own free will (she may not have wanted to leave?? ) and because he never told anyone she was with him he was charged with kidnap as opposed to abduction?[/

hippy I don't see how kidnap is a different word to abduction, it won't be a lesser charge if this is the case.

I think hippy means kidnap, as in holding the girl and not telling the authorities rather than abduction, as in abducting her off the street.
We will have to wait and see.

Having asked a friend whose hubby is in the Police, Kidnap would be keeping Shannon without her parent's consent whereas abduction would have been taking and holding Shannon against her will.

That makes sense Shell.
So, although it is a possibility that Shannon went to this man's flat of her own accord, he had an obligation to inform her parents.
He failed to do this and therefore held her without parental consent.
