A second review into the death of Baby Peter has called the actions of social workers "completely inadequate".

First case review into the death of Baby P was branded inadequate

It says Haringey Council workers lacked urgency and thoroughness and failed to scrutinise the child's mother sufficiently.

Baby Peter would still be alive today if he had been taken into care, it concluded.

Hi guys, I've just watched tomorrow's papers on Sky News, on every front page of British media we have the released identities of his mother and stepfather from midnight tonight.

They were erased from Facebook weeks ago!

That will be because for months she and the two men who abused Peter have hidden behind a series of court orders which barred newspapers from revealing their identities. So to keep with in the law Facebook would have to remove their images too!! But that privlidge ran out at midnight tonight!!

Baby P Stepdad In Animal Cruelty Poster Row

The stepfather of Baby Peter has forced an animal charity to take down a campaign poster featuring his mugshot - because it damages his reputation.

Barker was known to have abused guinea pigs, frogs and other creatures before turning his violence on children.

But lawyers for the 33-year-old immediately wrote to the charity demanding it be taken down from its spot near to where Peter Connelly died in Haringey, north London.

They claimed that a description of Barker as a "killer" was damaging to their client's reputation.

Tim Bittlestone, of solicitors Leslie Franks, wrote: "You should be aware that Mr Barker was acquitted of murder at the Central Criminal Court.

"Your campaign poster is therefore libellous. Please remove it immediately or we will be forced to institute proceedings against you."

PETA has agreed to remove the poster but bosses have now redesigned it without the "offending" words.

Baby P killer wins appeal and could be free in two years

Three judges allowed Jason Owen's appeal against his indeterminate sentence on the basis that there was no evidence he would pose a risk to the public in future. The 37-year-old was a lodger in the house where Peter Connelly was subject to months of abuse by his mother and her boyfriend.

He was originally sentenced to an indeterminate term for “causing or allowing” the toddler's death.

But today's ruling means he no longer has to convince a parole board and could be free far sooner than he thought. Owen is the brother of Steven Barker, Tracey Connelly's boyfriend, who played the biggest part in the violence against the 17-month-old boy.

Lodger who allowed Baby P to die could be released from jail this week

One of the trio jailed over tragic north London child Baby P's death could walk free from prison this week.
Jason Owen, 39, is serving a six-year sentence for causing or allowing the death of 17-month-old Peter Connelly exactly four years ago.

He is expected to be eligible for release at the end of this week, halfway through his jail term, taking into account the 289 days he spent in custody on remand before he was sentenced.

The Sun reported that the former lodger who was living with the child's mother Tracey Connelly and her boyfriends Steven Barker will be freed on Friday.

The newspaper also reported that Owen could receive state-funded plastic surgery in an attempt to conceal his identity and protect him from attacks from outraged members of the public.
Owen, from Bromley, Kent, was a lodger at the home of his brother Steven Barker in Tottenham, where Peter died on August 3, 2007.

In May 2009, an Old Bailey judge gave Owen an indeterminate sentence of imprisonment for public protection with a minimum term of three years for his part in the boy's death.

This meant he could apply for parole after three years but would only be released once the Parole Board was satisfied he no longer posed a risk to the public.

Double insult as Shoesmith set for £2.5m

ONE of the evil trio jailed over Baby P's death will walk free on Friday, The Sun can reveal.

Jason Owen's release date emerged on the eve of today's fourth anniversary of the 17-month-old's tragic end.

Owen, 39, was jailed just over two years ago along with his brother Steven Barker and Baby P's mum Tracey Connelly.

In a second blow to the child's memory, judges yesterday gave bungling boss Sharon Shoesmith the go-ahead to claim £2.5million over her sacking.

Both moves were blasted by Government sources.
