Casey’s Lawyer Questions Man Who Found Caylee

ORLANDO -- Casey Anthony’s defense team has finally been given the chance to question the man who found the remains of Casey’s daughter, Caylee.

Roy Kronk, a former Orange County meter reader, discovered the 2-year-old’s body in a wooded area near the Anthony home in December 2008.

The defense has waited almost a year to question Kronk, who made the first 911 call after finding Caylee’s remains, and has also claimed to have spotted “something suspicious” in the same area in August 2008.

Defense lawyer Jose Baez said his team plans on spending a considerable amount of time with Kronk Thursday.

“We’ll be here all day,” Baez told reporters before the deposition.

Casey Anthony case: Defense points fingers at Roy Kronk as potential murder suspect

Casey Anthony's defense team is going after the former Orange County meter reader who discovered her daughter's remains, claiming there is circumstantial evidence that makes him "equally likely to be responsible for the death of the child."

Now, the attorneys are asking a judge to allow a jury to hear allegations of Roy Kronk's past wrongdoings, including inappropriate behavior with girls, use of duct tape to restrain women and holding women against their will.

Defense: Roy Kronk 'Ignored' As Suspect In Caylee's Death

The new motion includes information collected from Knonk's two ex-wives as well as others who know Kronk.

The motions asks the court to allow "evidence indicating":

"Mr. Kronk's possible history of inappropriate behavior with young girls."
"That Mr. Kronk has a history of abusing, restraining, and holding women against their will."
"That Mr. Kronk has, in the past, used duct tape for the purposes of restraining women against their will."

Casey Anthony's defense filed a motion to get the court to allow testimony that Roy Kronk, the man who found Caylee's remains, should be a suspect in her death. Do you agree that Kronk should be considered a suspect?

Duct tape was found on Caylee's remains. The defense also claims Kronk told his son weeks before Caylee was found that he knew where her remains were located.

On Dec. 11, 2008, Kronk led police to Caylee Anthony's body. He was quickly ruled out as a possible suspect.

But Casey Anthony's defense team hit the network morning show circuit Friday, including CBS News’ "The Early Show" armed with videotaped interviews with Kronk's ex-wives. They portrayed Kronk as inappropriate with children, violent toward women, and capable of Caylee's murder.

Will Anthony Take A Plea Deal?

Right now the check fraud case is set for January. The murder case will likely take place next summer.

Baez is confident they'll hit those dates.

The defense has requested a change of venue for both the check fraud case and the murder case. So far, the judge hasn't scheduled a date to consider that request.

The next court date for Anthony is a pretrial hearing in the check fraud case on Dec. 11.

That'll happen one year to the day her daughter’s remains were discovered down the street from her home.

Brandon Sparks, the biological son of former meter, Roy Kronk, claims his father told him he found a skull that could be that of little Caylee Anthony, 2, a week before Thanksgiving 2008.

Brandon's made this allegation during an interview with Casey Anthony's defense team. His mother, Crystal Sparks, also spoke to Casey's legal team regarding her relationship with Kronk, her ex-husband.

On August 13, 2008, a meter reader pausing to relieve himself in a wooded area on his route, spotted a bag. He was aware that a little girl that lived in the area was missing, and alerted authorities about the find.

Kronk later said police conducted a cursory search of the area and then left.

On Dec. 11, Kronk again alerted authorities about the bag, which resulted in police finding the remains of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony inside the bag.
