Happy Birthday Yeremi. We continue to hope. Yeremi Vargas celebrates his 9th birthday this coming friday and continues to be a missing case. His family assure us that their life is " a hell with no return". They ask the Politicians and Guardia Civil to not forget the young boy who disappeared 16 months ago without a trace.
6pm this Friday Yeremi will be 9 years old but he is far away from his loved ones.It is 16 months since he disappeared and the Guardia Civil have no concrete sighting of him up to now.His cousins and school friends have made drawings to remember him. The atmosphere in the house is sad but hopeful at the same time.
Ithaisa Suarez,Yeremi's mother, is seated, looking at a photo of the boy with a lost look on her face. Herminia, Yeremi's maternal grandmother, prepares lunch, like she does every day." One has to go on" she says. And Jose, her husband arrives with muddy shoes searching for the lad.The past week, Yeremi's grandparents, both of whom helped raise the boy, searched and visited various locations South of the Island.
" How can we remain with crossed arms and resigned?", "we cannot, we must search for him", said Jose Suarez (Grandfather). He is convinced that Yeremi is being held by someone. However, members of the Civil Guardia, who you will not find working from the island but from Madrid, continue to investigate without a solid sighting since it happened on 10 March 2007. Things are clear he says, we have nothing, the investigation follows it's course."
Ithaisa Suarez, the mother of the boy, assures us that it is impossible to rebuild her life. She is on a low workload because of profound depression.Neither psychologists nor her family, nobody are able to find a solution for her.I cannot overcome anything. This is a terrible way to live. " How can nobody know ? How come nobody saw anything or not one sighting?"
Juan Francisco Vargas, father of the boy, believes that the investigation is about to cease. "They do not call me as often as before and I despair because of this, because I feel nobody is looking". he said. As a result of the pain, the extended families are more unified than ever, they appreciate the help given and that, that they continue to receive from all parts of the world. " Even as far as Mexico, there is a poster of Yeremi, someone we know left there", Isthaisa said." For us it is very important that the image of our son continues to be seen on the streets. We cannot forget him.He is a boy.I ask people to consider themselves in our situation", she said.
Jose (Grandfather) comments while busy in the kitchen, that he wants to see more posters. " We never thought that this amount of time would pass without any knowledge of the boy. His brother is growing up without him and I continue to think that someone is holding him, this does not leave my head", he said.

Request for help from Members in Spain Please.
I have been trying to find information about Yeremi Vargas's search regularily. By chance I have found this clip on YouTube. It seems very concerning for both Sara Morales and Yeremi. I can't believe this has not received international news. I do have some Spanish but with this importance of an issue I need help. Can you please help translate?

Thank you.
* Report on a disused Animal crematorium
* 37 year old being questioned
Thanks for the help received. Merly sourced a cyber friend, IRONSIDE to help with the translation.
Here is a summary of the report in his words:
"This report is about a man named Marco age 37 years he is from Gran Canaria. One week ago he tried to kidnap a six year old girl. She gave a good description plus he was driving a small white van...
Behind some bushes (which is shown on the left) a white van was found, police were called. Next to the van is an old pet crematorium. This has been closed for many years. This man Marco has been living in the crematorium. He has been questioned for the last seven hours about sexual assault and kidnapping.
Police are also looking in this place for clues, this could be the connection police are looking for as a white van was seen in the area when Yeremi disappeared. This man could be the kidnapper of Yeremi and Sara".

I have found an old article from El Correo Gallego, claiming that the head of the investigation in Gran Canaria spoke to the President of Spain, on the President's request about how the investigations were going, how he wanted redoubling of efforts and to safeguard the security of Gran Canarian residents.
Very interesting! I suppose not surprising but still good to hear that this does affect the top down.

* NB Now investigations appear to be based in Madrid. I am off there shortly and will bring posters for both Yeremi & Madeleine.

PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHAT EFFORTS WE CAN DO TO HELP SEARCH FOR YEREMI. THE LATEST NEWS INVOLVES 2 SCOTTISH PAEDOPHILES WHO MAY BE LINKED TO HIS ABDUCTION.

Two Scottish paedophiles suspected of Yeremi Vargas abduction
Gran Canaria/ "They presented themselves as tourist apartment cleaning operators, that arrived in Gran Canaria with their families but they were two dangerous paedophiles sentenced for the abuse of six children in Scotland, their country. Charles O'Neill, ex boxer and his cousin William Lauchlan repeated the journey of many British Paedophiles", a journalist began in his article in Interviu magazine about Yeremi's case where the Police confirmed that they are investigating two people of Scottish nationality for the disappearance of the Gran Canarian boy.

Yeremi's Mother believes the boy is in a neighbouring house
LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, 11 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -
The Mother of disappeared Yeremi, Ythaisa Suarez believes that her son could be in a neghbouring house and she has communicated this fact to the Guardai Civil agents in charge of the case. She thought this may be possible after what happned to Mariluz Cortes in Spain. "There are some new neighbours that I have never seen",the mother declared to Europa Press today.
Yeremi Vargas, who disappeared a whole 18 months ago while playing in the vicinity of his house in Vecindario,Gran Canaria. He is already 8 years old. His mother indicates that they imagine many scenarios in respect of the boy's disappearance.
The family affirms that he could be nearby,in some neighbouring house, whilst also pointing out the fact he could be hidden away from the town or the whole island.
"Everything is possible. For the family he could be in some one of the houses that are new to the area in Vecindario and we always wait with this pain, thinking that someone from these neighbouring houses could be harbouring him", she states.
(continuing translation later)
In every aspect, Yeremi's family have arrived at this conclusion, like the Guardia Civil, that it is possible.According to Ythaisa, the Police have investigated very few houses, although she does remember there were people who opened their doors to be inspected.
Although the Guardia Civil has stated that they have looked at previous missing cases)ones similar to that of Yeremi's) and they have occured in the area that Yeremi went missing. She added that it is " a line of investigation, that the agents believe "must be looked at".
SIX NEW INVESTIGATORS FROM MADRID
Ythaisa confirmed that the new investigators have been incorporated in the search for Yeremi.Today La Provincia Paper confirmed that six high-ranking investigators have been brought in from Madrid to unite with local investigators.
Besides this, Ythaisa added that "there is always hope"
CALLS CONTINUE TO COME IN
In addition, she indicated that the house telephone keeps ringing with news that people have seen a boy that "looks very like Yeremi" and want to tell the family directly. Every call, she says, has something different to say, some say he is alive, that he is in an institution, while others point out the fact he is deceased.Totally different things".
In every way, the family indicate that they continue to hope "that the little lad will appear" and that it is "a huge task for all related in investigating the case".

Too often I don't think about what has been left behind in so many missing children cases. I found this video for Yeremi, posted in May this year on dailymotion.com. It features footage of Yeremi, his close family, friends and the entire community efforts. Let's hope there is news very soon for the whole of Gran Canaria's sake. Thinking of all concerned today.

Ithaisa: "Any detail could be the key to finding Yeremi"
After 19 months without news of Yeremi Vargas, his Mother and Aunt have felt a plateau for the first time, as detailed in an interview on Espejo Publico, Antena 3.They appear on TV with the intention to successfully obtain more information of his disappearance.
Despite having spent many months, since the disappearance of the little boy in the Canarian town of Vecindario, the Guardia Civil have not closed the case.
Yeremi's Mother, Ithaisa Suarez, asked on the Espejo Publico programme, that people recount all that they saw and heard, although it may seem small: " Any detail, however small, could be the key to finding our boy.It is our only hope".
The Mother & Grandfather are still convinced after all these months that Yeremi is still alive. Even more, they believe he is located close to his own house. The Guardia Civil are working with this concept and are working with 2 main lines of investigation: The abduction by a paedophile and that of the extended family, although the father has already been discounted in investigations.
More than 100 sexual predators have been investigated living in the area, 4 of those very close to Yeremi's home: " Where we live there are many known paedophiles and many people don't know that because the suburb has grown a lot but the law does not permit investigations of them" Ithaisa Suarez.
"The main suspect is a paedophile who lived in the vicinity where our boy disappeared. He spent a year in jail and is responsible for 7 sexual assaults on boys and girls in the suburb".

The Las Palmas Rapist beat & kicked the heads of his victims
*15 women already have recognized him as her attacker.
*Investigates his connection with 402 violations.
*His latest assault, the weekend before his arrest.
Very violent and dangerous. So police sources have identified Miguel Angel MR, 47, the alleged serial rapist arrested in Las Palmas on Oct. 11, better known as the 'rapist's white van' because their assaults were committed in that vehicle.
According to sources in the investigation, consulted for" 20 minutos", the testimony of his victims have been wrenching. Miguel Angel was very violent in committing the violations, which occurred either as vaginal or anal. If the girl is resisting a lot, did not hesitate in grabbing her and kicking her head into the van.
Came to rape two or three girls per month
"When I finished satisfying with them, I pulled them from the van to the ground, most often half-naked". He violated two or three girls per month. In fact, his latest assault took place the weekend before his arrest.
For now, a dozen women have already acknowledged the detainee as her attacker in the various rounds of identification carried out. Police analyze the 402 violations that had occurred in the islands since 1985 to elucidate the involvement of the detainee.
Miguel Angel remains in custody, and communicated without bail since last week, when Judge Tomas Martin, owner of the Coroner's Court Number Three of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria charged him with several crimes, including an attempted murder, four for rape and many others by threats and coercion. His victims were prostitutes and girls he knew in bars.
Search continues
The Police continues its work of tracking the clearing of the area where the rapist brought his victims. Women's clothing have been found in the hard shoulder of a road and access to a nearby farm.
Women's clothing have been found in the waste area where he assaulted his victims.
In search of evidence the Army has joined and a group of climbers to negotiate a cliff on the coast of Arucas. The assailant used a white van or an Opel Corsa to consummate the violations.
As for his connection with the disappearances of children, Yeremi Vargas and Sara Morales, researchers have virtually ruled out the connection with the rapist 'case Yeremi' but are more cautious about making connections with the case of Sara Morales. It is not ruled out anything about this case.

La Guardia Civil investigate if the disappearance of Yeremi was a premeditated abduction
(snippet)
The agencies of UCO in the Guardia Civil have been investigating the disappearance of Yeremi Vargas, who has disappeared without trace for 20 months and are now following the line of enquiry that it was a premeditated abduction.
Although they are not discarding any hypothesis, the agents working with experts in the field of difficult & high risk disappearances are assured that the disappearance of the boy, from a part of Vecindario, that is difficult to access by car and that there were many people there celebrating his cousins birthday, conclude that it was totally calculated.
The Guardia Civil are opening various lines of enquiry but the one that has most weight is the premeditated abduction theory with months of preparation and from that believe the suspects spent time around Yeremi's family.
(Translated by pam supportfromireland)
* This is indeed not hugely surprising to us but let's hope there is more news soon.

The Investigations point to the fact Yeremi is still alive and concentrate on local surroundings
* A Telephone call with a hidden number puts la Guardia Civil on alert
* The Mother: " My son is being detained somewhere and much closer than we think"
MONTSE DE LEÓN ACUÑA / SANTA LUCÍA :
A Telephone call with a hidden number that Yeremi's family received months ago, has led to a line of investigation covering the entire neighbourhood and carries the greatest weight in the investigation in the last 21 months.
The UCO agents of La Guardia Civil are investigating since then, the whole surroundings of Vecindario, the place where Yeremi's family live and also the point at which he disappeared. For Ithaisa Suarez, mother to the boy, " it is this bit of information that demonstrates most clearly that my son is alive, being held somewhere and closer than we think". The family do not understand who would want to inflict such pain on them. " We have no idea who would want to use a child to this end. We have always held the feeling that Yeremi is alive as we sense it so".
Although the investigation is carrying more weight in the neighbourhood where Yeremi's Family lives, La Guardia Civil are working many lines of enquiry and have said according to agents, "one cannot disregard anything until the last moment". Since the boy disappeared whilst playing with his cousins, the family have never given up hope of finding him alive. " Never have we lost hope. I have always said if the whole island is covered and no body has been found anywhere, the likelihood is he is alive".
The Family are very satisfied with the work being done by the UCO agents of La Guardia Civil, who came from Madrid a year ago to take over the investigation. " We speak to them every week, they calm us down and show us the work they are doing", said Yeremi's Granny Herminia. " We are always discreet working with them, they inform us about all the news, they are treating it as a very delicate investigation but we are confident it will be solved".
The Maternal Grandfather of Yeremi, Jose Suarez continues his search for the boy and gives us an account of what he does. " I go out every day, I have already covered the island twice, as I have to be doing something. I hope that if I find anything, it will be of help and better than staying in my house".
According to the Experts of the Disappeared in La Guardia Civil, Yeremi Vargas is considered at high risk and a unique case by it's characteristics in all of Europe. The fact there have been little sightings of significance and many possibilities of what could have happened, makes it a unique case and difficult to solve.

Re: YEREMI VARGAS 7 - Vecindario (Gran Canaria) - 10/03/07
This is a translation I made off the German link at the bottom of the post.
Gran Canaria - The families of two missing children Yeremi and Sara is a sad and tryst before Christmas - From Yeremi, missing for 21 months, there has been no trace, Sara has been missing for nearly 2 years and 5 months.
Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - For parents, siblings and family members of Sara Morales it is the third Christmas without Sara. The girl, which disappeared without trace on July 30, 2006 at about 16:30 on the way to the Centro Comercial La Ballena in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is now missed greatly by the whole family. Sara's 12 years old cousin Patricia said a few days ago to her parents: "without Sara, there is no Christmas for me." Even the 8-year-old brother of the missing girl is aware that someone is missing. As Alba celebrated his birthday few weeks ago, he told his mother: "I will not tell you what I wish for; otherwise my wish may not come true." The little boy did not need to speak his desire out loud; everyone in the family knew that Alba’s biggest desire was the return of his big sister. Besides Patricia and Alba Sara is also being missed by the twins Pedro and Andrea (10 years). The whole family sadly has another sad Christmas before them - The third Christmas without Sara!
Also in Vecindario, the shopping city in the southeast of the holiday island of Gran Canaria, there is a family, this year a sad Christmas is imminent. The 8-year-old Yeremi Vargas Suárez, who disappeared without trace on March 10, 2007 (IslaCanaria.Net reported), is now painfully missed by his parents, his little brother and his whole family. A real Christmas will probably not be possible for Yeremis family members. Milagros Suárez, the aunt of the missing 8-year Yeremi, always responsible for the organization of family celebrations, said in an interview with a Canarian TV channel: "Of course, the children will get presents at Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) and Reyes (hl.3 Kings), but we cannot celebrate Christmas properly. “
