Police Concerned For Missing Boy's Safety

WASHINGTON -- Police have recovered one of the suspect vehicles in the abduction of an 8-year-old Stafford County boy.

Virginia State Police issued an endangered missing child alert Friday for Jacob Allen McHale. He is a 4-foot-tall white child weighing 85 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue long underwear and white socks.

Boy returned to his grandparents after mother hands herself in

Stafford County Sherrif’s Office report 8-year-old Jacob McHale, allegedly abducted by his mother and two men, was returned to his grandparents and is in good condition.

Police located the boy after his non-custodial mother, Carianne McHale, surrendered to police at her attorney’s office. Police arrested McHale. She is being charged with abduction, assault and battery, felony child neglect and conspiracy to commit abduction.

Police report Jacob McHale of Fence Post Road was abducted by his non-custodial mother and her boyfriend after an altercation with the boy’s grandparents Thursday night.

The grandparents have had custody of Jacob since shortly after his birth.

Police say Carianne McHale, 26, and Matthew Borowski, 24, came to the residence of Jacob McHale’ grandparents. While Borowski and a third unidentified suspect assaulted the boy’s grandfather, Carianne McHale abducted Jacob.

Third Suspect In Stafford Boy's Abduction Turns Himself in

The boy was found with his mother, Carianne McHale, on Monday afternoon, and police said he appeared to be OK.

Investigators said that Carianne McHale and Borowski, her boyfriend, took Jacob from his grandparents on Thursday night.

Police arrested McHale because she does not have legal custody of the boy. She called police on Monday afternoon from a lawyer's office to turn herself in.

She's facing child neglect and abduction charges.

Judge sets bond for mother who is accused of taking son

Mother gets bond in kidnapping caper

Over the objections of a prosecutor, a judge yesterday granted bond to a woman accused of kidnapping her own son.

Carianne McHale, 26, was given a $20,000 bond by Judge Julian Johnson following a hearing in Stafford Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
