Key things I picked up today is she went missing wearing the diesel t-shirt and grey velvet tracksuit we've seen her in a lot of footage.Also she wore a heart locket belonging to her mum.

anyone in Spain, know we have a few members and also visitors to Spain this summer.Please have a lookout. Irish members will look at home.

Amy’s mother still hopeful



THE mother of Amy Fitzpatrick, the 15-year-old Irish girl who went missing from Calahonda, Mijas Costa, when she was coming home from a friend’s house on New Year’s Day (EWN 1175), says that she is optimistic and that she still hopes to find her daughter. The investigation has revealed no clues to her whereabouts and her family no longer believe that she may have simply run away because she was unhappy.

Their hypothesis is that she is being held against her will by an older, English-speaking man, who may have promised to get her a passport and who is telling her what to do.

Thinking about this last article it is more worrying than I first thought. She may be in any country with this "English speaking man". Her appeal needs to go wider. Please pass on to anyone you know around Europe.

Amy & all the missing in Spain. I feel terrible for ye today. I fear what has happened to ye. I had hoped Amy may have run away but fear now some very evil people are at work now in Spain. Why isn't more being done? Criminals are "living it up" in The Med.

Very sadly Pam I have to agree with you.
Having lived here for six years I have scratched the surface somewhat.
Like anywhere, Spain has many wonderful people,but it has its fair share of badduns as well.
So many of these are in fact immigrants from all over the world. I suspect it is a very hard job for the guardia civil to infiltrate crime rings made up of foreigners. If the guardia are as underfunded as the schools or some other public services,then they dont stand a chance.
A peadophile was recently uncovered living just 3 miles from me...I knew his wife for goodness sake...none of us had any idea!
Worst of all is he was only discovered after appearing on Britains most wanted list...not by Spanish police!
He was hiding here and had done for some years.
Why aren´t the British authorities publicising these people more. This man was on the run! I have friends whos children were visiting this mans house. Needless to say it shook us all up!
I too fear for Amy. God bless her.

WE would like to remind our readers that Amy Fitzpatrick, who went missing from Riviera del Sol at the beginning of this year has still not been found and ask you to please bring this case to the attention of your friends and relatives in the UK. We received this letter from Amy’s father, who is desperate to find the young girl.



Dear Editor,

My name is Christopher Fitzpatrick. My daughter Amy Fitzpatrick (16) disappeared on the evening of New Year’s Day 2008 at approximately 10pm when she left her friend’s house in the tourist resort of Riviera del Sol on the Costa del Sol, to take the 10-minute walk to her house.

It has been over 32 weeks now since Amy went missing and there is still no news. Please help me in my search for my daughter and don’t let Amy be forgotten.

Amy has black hair, blue eyes and a pale complexion. She is 1.65m tall and was wearing brown crushed velvet tracksuit bottoms and a black T-shirt with the word ‘DIESEL’ in various different colours when she was last seen. She had no money, phone or passport

Amy is originally from Dublin, Ireland but was living in Spain and had many friends from England.

Since Amy went missing it has made us realise how badly we need a system in place in Europe to protect our children, so we started to campaign for a ‘European Alert’ system. We found it very hard to get volunteers to help but collected signatures in shopping centres, outside concerts, nightclubs, charity nights, online and on the day of the voting, we stood outside my local school collecting signatures from 9am to 10pm. We got a sighting of Amy in Portugal and the details were passed to the Irish and Spanish police. This week we discovered the man that reported the sighting back in April has never been contacted by the Irish or the Spanish police.



Donna-Marie from a band called Breeze 52 has given us permission to release a song called ‘Little Angel’ to help us raise funds. The song is dedicated to all missing children all over the world.

We are looking for help in getting the single produced to help us raise funds to hire a private detective and we are also trying to get something personal from celebrities that we could sell on ebay to help us raise funds.

This is the first time we have asked for help with funds and any funds that are raised will go to hire a private detective to search for Amy. Any funds left over will be given to an organisation to help other families that are going through the same situation.

Taoiseach is to meet Missing Amy's Mum Today

The mother of missing teenager Amy Fitzpatrick is due to meet with the Taoiseach this afternoon.

Audrey Fitzpatrick and her partner Dave Mahon will meet with Brian Cowen at Government Buildings.

Dubliner Amy Fitzpatrick (16) vanished on New Year's Day, while walking to her mother's Spanish home from a friend's house on the Costa del Sol.
