He may have been abducted by two black males. They may have been travelling in a newer model light green Taurus with Maryland license plates. Derrick was last seen wearing black shorts, and a black t-shirt with picture of a red and white rocket on the front.

Md. Police: Witnesses Report 2 Men Abducting Boy

Police are searching for an 8-year-old Baltimore boy after witnesses reported seeing a man get out of a car that stopped suddenly near several children, seize the boy and put him in the trunk before the car drove off.

Maryland State Police say the missing child is Darrick Charles Brown Jr. He's African-American and about 3 feet, 5 inches tall. He's wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt with a design of a red and white rocket on the front.

Police say two men were in the car, which is a newer model, light green Ford Taurus with Maryland tags.

Darrick was walking with a friend about 6:30 p.m. Monday in his southwest Baltimore neighborhood when he was taken.

Patrol units are looking for the boy and the car.

Charges pending after Baltimore police find kidnapped boy

‎An 8-year-old boy who was seen being thrown into the trunk of a car was found alive Tuesday, Baltimore police said.

Darrick Charles Brown Jr. was grabbed by two men in a green Ford Taurus while walking with a group of children Monday evening, Detective Donny Moses said.

Shortly after, a statewide Amber Alert for the missing boy was issued in Maryland.

Authorities found Darrick in an unoccupied home after receiving a call from someone who recognized him, Moses said. He was brought to police headquarters and checked out by medics before being released to his family, Moses said.

One person is in custody, and police say they are searching for another suspect in connection with the boy's abduction.

Officials have said the suspects probably knew the family and the boy was targeted, Moses said.

Charges in the case are pending.

Md. police: Boy reported abducted from Baltimore street found unharmed, 1 suspect in custody‎

..... Brown was found Tuesday morning about 13 hours later after a woman in the Allendale neighborhood who saw television reports of the boy’s abduction, spotted the boy and called police, Detective Donny Moses said.

Moses said the man with the boy, Nathaniel Booker, 20 — who lives on the same block as Brown — has been charged with kidnapping, kidnapping a child under the age of 16, reckless endangerment, first- and second-degree assault, false imprisonment and extortion. He added that police are looking for a second suspect, Raheem Taylor, 21.

A ransom demand was made, which is unusual and might mean the captors were familiar with someone in the family, Moses said. The demand did give investigators more information to work with, but Moses declined to say when or how the demand was made or discuss what was sought.

“We do feel very fortunate to have this young man back healthy and alive,” Moses said. The boy was checked by medics and taken to police headquarters where he spoke with officers and was reunited with relatives.

Brown’s father has drug convictions in the 1990s and 2000, according to online court records. Investigators are looking at the possibility that drugs may be related to the boy’s abduction, Moses said.
