Romanian arrested in Spain, accused in the kidnap of Sahil Saeed, the 5 year old British boy kidnapped in Pakistan

Two Pakistani citizens and one Romanian woman were arrested in Spain, suspected to be involved in the kidnapping case of Sahil Saeed, the 5 year old British boy kidnapped in Pakistan, The Times reads.

The three were arrested in on Tuesday after the boy was released in Punjab and are accused of kidnapping. According to some unofficial information, a 87,000 euro ransom was paid.

Neighbors of the suspects declared for a local paper that the police confiscated a big sum of money. Sahil was found on Tuesday morning as he was walking bare foot nearby Kharian at 4 am, 20 km away from the place he was kidnapped.

Three to face court over kidnapping

Three people arrested in Spain in connection with the kidnap of a five-year-old boy in Pakistan are to appear in court.

Two Pakistani men and a Romanian woman have been arrested near Tarragona in north east Spain in connection with the case.

An official with the Superior Court of Catalonia said all three are due to appear before a judge.

Spanish police make arrests over Pakistan kidnapping

"Arrests have been made. I can not say how many. Details will be given at a press conference at 6:30 pm (1730 GMT)," the spokesman told AFP when asked about a newspaper report that three people had been arrested.

Two Pakistani men and a Romanian woman were detained at their home in the town of Constanti near Tarragona in northeastern Spain in connection with the case, the online edition of regional daily Diari de Tarragona reported.

They are suspected of having travelled to an undisclosed European city to pick up the ransom, the newspaper said.

Spanish police found a large quantity of money at the suspects' flat, it added.
