Service for Missing Andrew
(snippet)
FAMILY and friends of missing teenager Andrew Gosden have attended a "moving" church service in London to commemorate the first anniversary of his mystery disappearance.
Andrew's young sister Charlotte carried a candle to the altar at St James' Church in Piccadilly on Sunday in honour of her brother - who would have turned 15 in July.
She was flanked by parents Kevin and Glenys and watched by almost 100 people from Doncaster, including several of Andrew's classmates from McAuley Catholic High School.

Appeal excerpt from Missing Kids website
This part struck me:
"It is thought Andrew may have taken his PSP (play station portable) in a black canvas bag. The bag has patches sewn onto it with rock bands on such as Blink 182 on the front flap.
Andrew enjoyed gaming on his PSP and may join online with other games users."
We have gaming centres here now in cities. Can ye have a look around gaming centres in UK? I really hope there is a link between this and him doing something he wants to do.

I can't beleive still no word about Andrew. How could he just disappear off the face the earth in London? I do worry that something has happened to him as I don't know him but still can't see him putting his sister & parents through all this pain willingly. He could be ill too though. I keep looking, myself here in Ireland, keep wondering is he tall now? How has he changed? So many kids go missing in London it is very frightening and the public have a duty of care. Let's try and find the missing kids out there. I truly believe society is too consumed now with their own problems, many so much smaller than a little gesture of help to find a missing child. We can all do it ! Who do you know in London?

A billion hugs await teenage boy missing a year
THE family of a schoolboy who has been missing for a year have described the past 12 months as a 'living nightmare'.
Three coach loads of friends and family of Andrew Gosden, 14, travelled to London last Sunday to mark the year anniversary since his disappearance.
The gifted mathematician, who has family in Chislehurst, Blackheath and Sidcup, was last seen stepping off a train at King's Cross having travelled from his home in Doncaster and seemingly 'disappeared into thin air'.
Friends joined his parents as they handed out 15,000 leaflets to Londoners before attending a church service to remember missing children.
His father, Kevin Gosden, 42, said: "The last year has been a living nightmare. It's not a secret that I got so low at Christmas, in pure frustration and despair, that I tried to take my own life and spent a period in a psychiatric hospital.
"All of that put a huge strain on my wife Glenys and my daughter Charlotte. Any negative emotion you name, we've been there. Anger, despair, sadness, grief, we feel them all at regular intervals. It has been the toughest time imaginable.
"There is a big gap. You can't help but feel empty, there are photos of him everywhere but no him. You find yourself setting the table for four and then think 'what am I doing?'
"All we have are happy memories of him. He was never awkward or difficult. He was just a lovely, lovely lad to be around."
Andrew was extraordinarily intelligent and his teachers predicted he would sail through Oxbridge.
He won maths competitions at a national and European level and read the philosophy of Nietzsche.
His parents are flummoxed by his disappearance, which happened just a few days in to his new school term at the beginning of his GCSEs.
Mr Gosden said: "The only idea that we can come up with is that he didn't want a regular life and has resurfaced somewhere. We hope he is looking after himself and is happy."
But Mr Gosden cannot believe his son would not contact the family, knowing the devastating distress his disappearance has caused.
He added: "This is the only thing we cannot reconcile, knowing that he was not uncaring or thoughtless makes us think he has come to some harm or is being held against his will.
"It seems inconceivably cruel not to have even made contact anonymously. That is what is frightening.
"We just want him to get in touch, a postcard or anything, even anonymously. We're not angry, we're not resentful and we have a billion hugs saved up to give him. Just let us know you're safe."
There have been 122 possible sightings of Andrew over the last year yet none of them have been confirmed.
n If you see him or know his whereabouts, contact Missing People on Freephone 0500 700 700.

The milk campaign is being conducted with the help of the charity Missing People.
Andrew's mother, Glenys Gosden, said: "Missing People has been hugely important to us at a time when we feel that we are living in limbo.
"The appeal for Andrew on Iceland's milk cartons is another welcome symbol of hope."
The supermarket, which sells over 100,000 cartons of milk per day, will feature a different appeal each week.
Iceland chief executive Malcolm Walker said: "We have been involved with Missing People before and hope to generate thousands of new sightings which might just change someone's life."
The company featured limited appeals on milk cartons between 1997 and 2006.
Of the 130 people featured in the campaign, 40 were found.

Hi
Can I ask you all to say a prayer tonight for Andrew, I am in contact with his Dad and the family are so desperate to hear from him.
Christmas is drawing closer and knowing that a loved one is away from home is hard enough when you know where they are, the not knowing is unbearable.
Andrew if you see this message, please make contact with your family or even the runaway helpline.

Agony for lost boy's parents after sighting
Kevin and Glenys Gosden, of Littlemoor Lane in Balby, shared their story with viewers of The One Show on BBC last week - and within hours of the programme a possible sighting of the youngster was reported in Herefordshire.
The informant, however, who reported the sighting through a police intercom box at Leominster Station, left before officers had the chance to talk to him.
"It's becoming a new form of subtle torture," said Andrew's dad Kevin on the ongoing search for clues. "We don't really know whether this person had something really concrete.
"Andrew knows that part of the world - we've been on holiday there - but we don't really know enough.

Is there anyone on here who lives near Hereford and could distribute posters?
I'll try to get in touch with the Local Council and ask them to send posters of Andrew to local libraries etc.
Any more ideas folks?

Hunt for Missing Boy
THE parents of a teenage boy who disappeared without a trace over a year ago are taking their campaign to find him into schools.
Andrew Gosden, now aged 15, disappeared from his Doncaster home on September 14, 2007.
He has family in Chislehurst, Sidcup and Blackheath, but the last confirmed sighting of him was on the day he disappeared when he arrived at London's Kings Cross Station.
Now his family are launching a new campaign in all UK schools urging youngsters who may have seen the missing teenager to come forward.
His father, Kevin Gosden, 43, said: ""Despite many possible sightings, we still do not have one shred of hard evidence relating to his whereabouts, and we are beginning to feel less hopeful that he is alive.
"I am e-mailing every state secondary school in the UK asking for help, particularly from staff and year 10 or 11 pupils, who have noticed someone new in their community of their own age.
"We are hoping that people will help by joining the Bebo and Facebook groups dedicated to searching for Andrew. Pictures are available on these to help gain an impression of Andrew's looks, even though they will have changed.
"Certainly our love for him makes us want to leave no stone unturned in our search. We desire nothing more than to know he is alive and unharmed, to be reunited if possible and to offer him our help and support if he finds himself in a difficult situation."
Anyone who may have information on Mr Gosden's whereabouts is urged to contact the police, or Missing People on freephone 0500 700 700.

I would ask you to please think about Andrew's Family at the moment. They are going through a tough time and need any help you can give. They are currently doing an email campaign & a Missing Children Campaign at their local church. If you can help by emailing Andrew's details to all you know, it would go a long way & would only take you 5 minutes. Thank you.
