Missing West University boy found in Michigan, uncle in custody
A prominent neurologist has been reunited with his son, who went missing from their West University Place home 15 months ago, and the boy’s uncle, suspected in his abduction, is in a Michigan jail awaiting extradition.
Andrew Mosier, now 14, was located when police in a small township outside Jackson, Mich., ran the plate on a Ford Mustang in the parking lot of a Motel 6.
The plate was found to be that registered to Doug Lazell, 52, whom Harris County prosecutors charged in January with unlawful restraint of a child, several months after Andrew Mosier disappeared in June 2010.
Since then, the boy’s and Lazell’s whereabouts had been unknown, although Andrew’s father, Dr. Dennis Mosier has told numerous media outlets that he believed his ex-wife, Dr. Carol Lazell, was involved in their son’s disappearance.
