Thanks for that Twiggy. I think I'll post this to all my contacts as you never know who may have seen him. My gut reaction is he has left Ireland though but I could be very wrong.

There are no up dates available at this time.

Faris was 2 years old when he went missing.

He would be 3 years old now.

I actually had a lead myself in the case. I gave it to Gardai but have heard no response since. I hope he is safe.

Update on this case is Gardai believe he is in Egypt. This is definitely new and worrying.

Thanks for sending on the link, I was trying to watch the newspapers here from Scotland to see what was the result after the verdict.

I pray & think about Faris every day that Faris comes back soon and that the people involved do the right thing.

There are no news updates at this time.

Mother urges state to get abducted son from Egypt

Family told no legal system can force the return of a boy smuggled out of Dublin airport, leading to calls for new laws for lone traveller parents

The mother of a four-year-old Irish boy who was abducted and taken to Egypt two years ago has called on the Irish government to put pressure on the Egyptian authorities to help to secure his return.

Norma Heeney, 31, a catering worker with the Health Service Executive, said she felt “let down” by the Irish authorities. Her son, Faris Daniel Heeney, was dressed up as a girl and kidnapped in July 2007 by the brother of Emir Ismaeil, the child’s father and her former boyfriend.

The boy was flown out of Dublin on a Turkish Airlines flight using the passport of a four-year old girl. Mary Banotti, a former MEP and chair of the Irish Centre for Parentally Abducted Children, said the case was a “classic example” of parental abduction and showed up weaknesses in Irish airport security.
