To Amber and Chelsea:

Each morning when we awake,
We know that you are gone.
And no one knows the heartache
As we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know.

Our thoughts are always with you,
Your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly;
In death we love you still.

There will always be a heartache,

Moe Dubois said he feels 'totally victimized once again'

Maurice "Moe" Dubois, the father of murdered Escondido teen Amber Dubois, castigated San Diego Superior Court officials on Friday for releasing his victim impact statement on Thursday, the day before the sentencing of the man who raped and murdered his 14-year-old daughter.

Standing in front of the downtown Hall of Justice, dressed in a black suit with his longtime girlfriend Rebecca Smith at his side, a demonstrably angry Dubois said he felt he had been "totally victimized once again" by the system.

Dubois planned on reading the statement during Gardner's sentencing hearing Friday. He criticized the court for releasing it against his wishes.

"I think this is baloney," he shouted, his voice strained. "It should never, ever happen again."

As he walked away from the steps, Dubois added that "the one right I have left has been taken away from me" referring to his right to speak directly to Gardner, who is expected to be sentenced to two consecutive life terms for raping and murdering Amber and 17-year-old Chelsea King of Poway.
