Focus no longer on Paige Johnson‎

The focus of the search for missing teen Paige Johnson has turned toward the money raised during an event held last week.

Ryan Courtade with the Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation and Donna Johnson, mother of missing teen Paige Johnson, both spoke out on Wednesday.

On Oct. 15 friends and family gathered to raise money for the families involved and the search effort. When it came time to distribute the money raised, people began to disagree.

Donna received a portion of the funds. The money for the reward and search efforts were set aside, but the remaining $725 was set to go to family of the father of Paige's daughter.

According to Courtade, the father's family declined the money, asking it go toward the search effort and reward.

Donna, however, had something else in mind.

"Paige didn't have a college fund. I want Mackenzie to have a college fund. I want the rest of the money that's in the bank to go to Mackenzie's college fund. And the guy from the foundation said I completely understand and that's what will happen. So when we went down to get it the next day, it was gone," said Donna.

According to Courtade Donna "wanted it for her own personal uses. She said it was going to go towards the baby. But as far as I know we don't have any proof that that would have happened."

Wednesday both parties decided the money issues should be set aside and the focus on Paige should resume.

Last person to see Paige to be released‎

The convicted felon last seen with missing 17-year-old Paige Johnson is set to be released from the Kenton County jail without any new charges filed against him.

Unless Covington police come up with some evidence that links 22-year-old Jacob Bumpass to some crime, state probation and parole documents reveal that his sanction for violating his parole on theft charges will be to complete a residential drug rehabilitation program.

Bumpass will remain locked up until a bed opens at a Newport halfway house that offers drug treatment, probation and parole district supervisor Christie Feldman wrote in a letter to The Enquirer. Officials said they didn't know how soon that would be.

New Search Warrants In Paige Johnson Disappearance

Covington Police have requested new search warrants in the case of a missing 17-year-old. Paige Johnson disappeared September 23rd and despite a series of searches, online pleas and a billboard campaign, no one has come up with a clue to what happened to her or where she is. Now, police are taking a closer look at the man last seen with her.

Local 12's Joe Webb has been following the story.

Covington Police have been looking closely at Jacob Bumpass since he tried to run when they first went to interview him. It was his cell phone records from the night she disappeared that led police to a massive search of East Fork State Park.

Now, they're taking a closer look at Bumpass's social networking trail... his posts on facebook and myspace. Affidavits for two new search warrants say phone records show that Jacob Bumpass and Paige Johnson regularly communicated through social networking sites.

Search for teen goes to Internet‎

Kentucky investigators searching for a missing teenage mother are seeking search warrants for the Facebook and MySpace accounts of the young woman and the man with whom she was last seen.

Investigators hope messages sent via the sites will help them find 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence, who was reported missing Sept. 23 and is the mother of a 2-year-old girl, according to a report Tuesday in The Kentucky Enquirer.

Police say she was last seen with 22-year-old Taylor Mill resident Jacob Bumpass.

Covington police Det. Gwen Kelley wrote in an affidavit to obtain the warrants that she thinks the accounts contain information that "a criminal offense has occurred" but that Bumpass has not cooperated with investigators.

"Investigators found Mr. Bumpass' limited statements to be untrue or unverifiable," Kelly wrote in the affidavit. "Mr. Bumpass was unwilling to provide an explanation of the whereabouts of Paige Johnson."

Covington police have refused to call Bumpass a suspect, or even a person of interest in the case. He is being held in the Kenton County Jail on parole violations.

Former Victim Says Jacob Bumpass Is Violent‎

The last man seen with a missing Northern Kentucky teenager has a record of violence and the move is on to keep him locked up. Jacob Bumpass has not been charged with anything related to the disappearance of Paige Johnson. He's only locked up for a parole violation. Now, a victim from an earlier crime has stepped forward to talk.

He spoke with Local 12's Joe Webb.

Jacob Bumpass was paroled for two theft charges he pled guilty to in 2008. He was locked up for violating his parole when police arrived to question him about Paige Johnson and found weapons and evidence that he'd been drinking... both parole violations. Next week, the legal process begins to revoke Bumpass's parole. One of his victims says he can be dangerous and at times violent and doesn't want him out.

"He told me he had a knife."

Tyler Lewin thought he and Jacob Bumpass were friends, until a night in December 2007 when he says Bumpass blindsided him and took his money. Police say it all took place at Oakbrook Road and Sycamore Hill in Florence. Bumpass was arrested that night and charged with robbery.

According to Erlanger Police, three days earlier, Bumpass robbed this Ameristop, breaking the ankle of an elderly clerk in the process. He was charged with robbery, again. He pled guilty to lesser theft charges in both cases and was sentenced to a total of 8 years in jail. He was paroled, but locked back up last month.

Missing Teen: Police Keeping Eye On Caleb Bumpass‎

it's been six weeks since Paige Johnson's family saw the missing teenager, and they're losing patience with people who are refusing to talk to police. Jacob Bumpass, the last person seen with Paige Johnson, is locked up for a parole violation and won't talk. His brother, Caleb Bumpass, whose car was searched by police after her disappearance, has also hired an attorney and isn't cooperating.

But Local 12's Joe Webb tracked him down today in Elsmere.

Caleb Bumpass was not happy to see us this morning. He said he is displeased with our story yesterday about his brother's criminal history. Bumpass had no comment, but while we were there, we found out police have been back since they searched his car last month. Caleb Bumpass didn't want to talk today and told us his attorney wouldn't talk either. October 8th, police came here with a search warrant for his car, specifically looking for blood and bloody clothing as part of the Paige Johnson investigation. She was last seen with his brother, Jacob, September 23rd.

Missing Teen's Supporters Turn To Santa‎

Friends of a missing northern Kentucky teen are banding together on Facebook, asking Santa for intervention on her behalf.

Teen mother Paige Johnson disappeared nearly two months ago.

The last person to see her, Jacob Bumpass, was in court Wednesday for a parole hearing.

Even though Bumpass is not facing charges in relation to Johnson's disappearance, he still had to face the teen's mother, Donna Johnson.

"I was very upset. I was shaking and crying because he kept looking at me," Johnson said.

Johnson's mother said she was asked to testify about Bumpass' last encounter with Paige because it could keep him in jail for violating his parole.

Mom Plans To Share Photos Of Missing Daughter‎
Images Intended To Show How Daughter Lived

The mother of a missing Florence teen is sharing some never-before-seen photos of her daughter as she questions some of those trying to help in the search.

Donna Johnson said she has 544 photos on her computer of her daughter, Paige Johnson, who disappeared Sept. 23 after a friend said he dropped her off in Covington.

Police said that friend, Jacob Bumpass, has provided misleading or false statements to them, and he is being held on an unrelated parole violation.

Johnson is using the photos to create a video story about 17-year-old Paige that she plans to post online, including WLWT.com, next week.

"I just want everyone to see her life, what it was about, how she grew up, and a picture says a thousand words," Johnson said.

The pictures cover her life from an ultrasound taken while Paige was still in the womb through holidays and everyday events leading up to the days before she disappeared.

Blood Found In Car NOT Paige Johnson's‎

Covington Police have received some long-awaited lab results in the case of a missing 17-year-old. Blood recovered from a car, searched last month, was sent to the Kentucky State Crime Lab. Police believe it was the car Paige Johnson was last seen in the night she disappeared.

Local 12's Joe Webb has been following the story.

This is not good news for investigators. Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders says the blood recovered by Covington Police is not Paige Johnson's. It was recovered from a 1999 Mazda belonging to Caleb Bumpass, the brother of Jacob Bumpass, the last person known to be with Paige Johnson on September 23rd. Police think Jacob Bumpass may have borrowed his brother's car that night. Caleb Bumpass is not linked to Paige Johnson. Last month, police searched both men's cars and Jacob Bumpass's home. Today, they released what they found.

Investigators said they have determined that blood found in a car did not come from a missing Florence teen.

The blood was discovered on the passenger seat of a car driven by Jacob Bumpass, who was the last person known to have seen Paige Johnson.

The 17-year-old Johnson disappeared Sept. 23 after Bumpass said he dropped her off at a street corner in Covington.

Search for missing NKY teen Paige Johnson takes another twist‎

A dried red substance found in the kitchen sink of the man who was last seen with missing 17-year-old Paige Johnson was not blood.

Investigators had cited the existence of what appeared to be dried blood near two latex gloves when they obtained search warrants for Jacob Bumpass’ Taylor Mill apartment, phone and two cars he was known to drive.

While Bumpass has never been named a suspect in Paige’s Sept. 23 disappearance, the 22-year-old remained at the Kenton County jail Wednesday night on a parole violation. Authorities are trying to send him back to prison for providing alcohol to Paige, among other things.

Covington police did recover a small amount of blood from one of the cars its investigators searched, but it didn’t match Paige’s DNA, said Kenton Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders, who has seen some of the long-awaited lab results from the Kentucky State Police crime lab.

Family Of Missing NKY Teen Gives Back To Community‎

The family of a missing northern Kentucky teenager is trying to celebrate the holidays the best way they know how -- by helping others.

Paige Johnson, 17, was last seen three months ago.

On Wednesday, her mother, Donna, and those close to her, delivered cookies to the Welcome House of Northern Kentucky, which provides services for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
