Man held after toddler dies

Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of three-year-old Ayola "No-pinky" Adonis, whose body was found about 100 metres from her grandparents' Masiphumelele home.

Meanwhile, police investigating the child's death confirmed that an autopsy on Tuesday had indicated that she was sexually assaulted.

An 18-year-old man taken in for questioning was released on Wednesday morning and was helping police with their investigation. Four others have since been held for questioning.

Two men arrested for the murder and rape of Ayola Adonis

The breakthrough in the investigation comes after the release of an 18 year old man that was taken in for questioning on the 13 October 2008.the man has now volunteered his assistance in the Police investigation.

Police spokesperson Inspector Bernadine Steyn says the, “two male suspects, aged 29 and 31 years respectively, will appear in the Simons Town Magistrate's court today on charges of Murder and Rape.
