Tia Sharp, who is 4ft 5in tall and wears glasses, has not been seen since she left her grandmother's home in New Addington around midday on Friday.

She told her family she was going to Croydon town centre.

Anyone who has seen Tia or knows of her whereabouts should call Merton Police on phone number 101, quoting reference 12MIS025216.

£25k Sun reward to find missing Tia
Schoolgirl's mum: Please help us find her

THE Sun today launches a £25,000 appeal to find missing schoolgirl Tia Sharp and bring her home safely.

The 12-year-old’s parents thanked us yesterday — and refused to give up hope.

Brave mum Natalie posed with a reward poster as they said: “Please help us find her.”

She was comforted by boyfriend David Niles, 29, as the search entered its fifth day.

When told of The Sun’s appeal, David said: “If you want to do that, it’s very much appreciated. I’d love you to do that.”

Natalie, 31, said: “We feel terrible. We think she’s been taken but we just don’t know. There’s no CCTV.”

And speaking of the family’s heartbreak, she added: “We know nothing. I wish to God I could tell you something. My baby girl walked out and she vanished.”

David added: “I want my little girl back. We’re in bits. We don’t know what to do. I just want to find my little girl. The whole country is helping, that’s all we can ask.”

Detectives hunting missing Tia Sharp, 12, scour grandmother’s home with a sniffer dog as desperate search for schoolgirl enters its sixth day
  • Tia's grandmother's boyfriend has accompanied police

  • Police dogs trained to find bodies searched nearby woodland

  • Helpless mother says: 'My baby girl walked out and vanished'

  • It is thought her grandmother's partner was last person to see her

  • Conflicting claims over where Stuart Hazell, 37, last saw the schoolgirl

  • Family are said to be 'losing hope'

  • Internet trolls target Facebook site set up by family to help find Tia

The boyfriend of missing 12-year-old Tia Sharp's grandmother has accompanied police to 'go over his statement'.
This afternoon Stuart Hazell left the New Addington house where the missing schoolgirl was last seen six days ago to be interviewed by the police.

Scotland Yard today said that they had not made any arrests over the disappearance of the child.

The Metropolitan confirmed that a man was being interviewed 'as a potential witness'.

A spokesperson said: 'We have not made any arrests.

'There is a man who is being interviewed as a potential witness but there have been no arrests.'
In the hunt to find the schoolgirl, police today took sniffer dogs to her grandmother's house, from which the 12-year-old vanished on Friday.

Two uniformed officers and a dog searched Christine Sharp's terraced home in New Addington, near Croydon, following conflicting reports on where Tia was last seen.
They arrived shortly after the family were given an inquiry update at the house by leading officer Detective Chief Inspector Nick Scola.

Most of the family had left the house before the search took place, but is thought that a plain clothes detective, family liaison officer and Mr Hazell, were still there.

The dog handlers left empty handed roughly 20 minutes later while police dogs trained to find bodies were searching woodland 400 yards away.

Tia Sharp search: Body found in grandmother's house

Police searching for the missing schoolgirl Tia Sharp have found a body in her grandmother's south London home.

The Metropolitan Police said the body was found following a search of the property in New Addington, Croydon, earlier.

The 12-year-old has been missing since last Friday.

Police are seeking Stuart Hazell, 37, the partner of Tia's grandmother Christine Sharp, and have asked people not to approach him.

Members of the public have been asked to call 999 if they see Mr Hazell.

No arrests have been made.

The body is yet to be identified but Tia's family has been informed.

The BBC's Ben Ando said police sources said they had yet to determine how long the body had been at the property and that would form part of the inquiry.

Officers had cordoned off the area around the property at about noon to carry out a forensic search and the Met had said the search could take up to two days.

Earlier, officers with a police dog spent about 30 minutes in the house.

Tia's uncle, grandmother and Mr Hazell had all made emotional appeals to find the schoolgirl.

Mr Hazell was believed to have been the last person to have seen the girl.

She was reported to have gone missing after leaving her grandmother's house on her way to the Whitgift shopping centre in Croydon.

Alston Millington, 32, who lives nearby, said: "It is such sad news. I live just around the corner and can't believe it."

Following Tia's disappearance, a Facebook campaign was launched to find her and about 200 people helped police comb a woodland near the house.

It is understood the schoolgirl regularly visited her grandmother's house and was believed to have been at the property alone with Mr Hazell the night before she disappeared.

Mr Hazell had said that he was not the last person to see the girl leave the house.

He was questioned by police on Wednesday.

Before officers sealed the house earlier on Friday to carry out a search, Mrs Sharp was seen to leave the property with police in plain clothes.

At the time she said the missing girl's mother, Natalie, was "in bits" and that she did not know where she was as "she needed to get away".

She said all family members had done their "own little separate bit" to help in the search, including Mr Hazell, but she did not know where he was.

Mrs Sharp also added: "He knows the finger has been pointed at him.

"He knows this and it's been really hard for him."

Grandmother among two more arrests in Tia Sharp murder inquiry day after step-grandad was seen buying vodka during eight-hour manhunt

  • Stuart Hazell, 37, arrested eight hours after body of Tia Sharp is found in loft

  • After week-long hunt for girl by 100 police with dogs after reported missing

  • Questions asked about initial probe after police searched house three times

  • Detectives investigating whether body was moved between neighbours' lofts

  • Hazell seen in shop kept saying 'have you seen her - I want her back'

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Tia Sharp have made two further arrests.
The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that Tia's grandmother, 46-year-old Christine Sharp, was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday, she has been taken to a south London police station where she remains in custody.

Paul Meehan, a 39-year-old neighbour of Christine Sharp, was also arrested yesterday, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He also remains in custody in a south London police station.

Police were accused of incredible blunders last night after the body of Tia Sharp was found hidden at her grandmother’s home.
They even allowed ‘step-grandfather’ Stuart Hazell to go missing for several hours before he was arrested following a tip-off from a member of the public.
He was being detained last night on suspicion of murder. Neighbours were left questioning why it took more than 100 officers seven days to locate Tia, 12, when her body had been in the house all along.
And last night police refused to discuss where in the property the discovery was made even though they used ladders to access the loft.

Three searches had already been carried out and detectives are investigating whether the 12-year-old’s body was moved between the roof spaces of neighbouring properties.

Hazell was arrested by officers on Cannon Hill Common in Morden, South-West London, at 8.25pm.
Sources said he was the subject of a ‘controlled arrest’ after a member of the public had alerted them.
The arrest brought a relatively swift end to a manhunt into which the Met had poured vast resources.
Witnesses claimed Hazell appeared to be drunk and was calling out ‘Have you seen Tia?’ before he was held.

Chloe Bird, 11, said Hazell was in a mini market on Cannon Hill Lane, beside a hairdressers, buying a small bottle of vodka.
She said: 'He was crying and looked drunk. He just kept saying 'have you seen her - I want her back, I miss her so much'.'
Chloe recognised Hazell from the news. After the encounter at around 5.30pm she ran home and told her stepfather Nick Keeley, 40, who called the police.
Bryoni Goodwin said Hazell walked into the salon where she worked smelling of alcohol saying a little girl was lost.
The hairdresser described the suspect, who was wearing a baseball hat, a white vest and a red jacket, as ‘all over the place’.
She said Hazell entered the Sculpture hair salon on Cannon Hill Lane at around 5.30pm, a short distance from the park where he was later arrested.
After walking into the salon he entered a neighbouring shop in which he was seen on CCTV buying a bottle of vodka and a lighter.
‘He came into the salon and my boss dealt with him. He said “Have you seen Tia?’’,’ said Miss Goodwin, 18.

‘He told us that he was her granddad and I did recognise him from the TV but at that stage I didn’t realise he was wanted. He said she was used to walking in the area as she went to school around here and that he was looking for her.
‘He had tears in his eyes the whole time but we thought that was normal. We told him we hadn’t seen her and then he walked out with tears in his eyes.’
Staff in the salon realised Hazell was wanted in connection with the incident only after a customer checked the news on her phone.
The owner of the salon then phoned the police who, Miss Goodwin said, arrived five minutes later.

I know others will likely see similarities with this case and others of same age too. It'll be a long wait before full truth, we hope, comes out. I just hope she didn't suffer long before she died too. Something sits very badly with me and that is the photo of her with make up on, at 12. Now she looks beautiful but still a child and how was the photo used? I'm just concerned about it.

I read latest Sky News update and it's very sad on her loved ones not involved !

Wrapped in a bed-sheet and a black bin liner: Details of how Tia Sharp's body was found emerge as her step-grandfather is remanded in custody charged with murder
  • Stuart Hazell, 37, appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court via video-link

  • Tia's body was found in a bin bag in the loft of his home in New Addington, south London

Tia Sharp was 'smothered' and her body found wrapped in a black bed-sheet and a bin liner, it emerged today as her step-grandfather appeared at court charged with her murder.
Stuart Hazell, 37, the partner of the 12-year-old schoolgirl's grandmother, appeared before magistrates via video-link and was later remanded in custody.
He sounded emotional as he spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.

His voice cracked when he was asked to confirm his address, The Lindens, New Addington, south London, where Tia's body was found in a bin bag in the loft.

Hazell appeared from Sutton police station by video link at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court, south east London.
The clerk of the court said: 'You are charged with between August 2 and 11 within the jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court you murdered Tia Sharp. Do you understand the charge?'

Hazell, who could barely be seen on the screen, replied: 'Yes.'
Hazell was dressed in a blue T-shirt and sat alone at a table with a policewoman standing behind him.
He was charged after Tia's body was found in the loft of the home he shares with his lover and Tia's grandmother Christine Sharp on Friday.

She had been reported missing from the house in New Addington, south London, a week earlier and a nationwide manhunt was launched.
More than 100 officers were drafted in and members of the local community pulled together to carry out their own searches and hand out thousands of leaflets bearing Tia's face.

More than 800 hours of CCTV footage were scoured for clues of Tia's whereabouts, with 60 reported sightings and more than 300 calls to the incident room investigated.
Despite visiting the terraced property, including with specially-trained sniffer dogs, officers only discovered the body on their fourth search - in a spot they had visited five days earlier
They have since apologised to Tia's mother for not finding the girl's body sooner.
Hazell, who is unemployed, was arrested on Friday after apparently being spotted by a schoolgirl who had seen him buying alcohol in an off-licence.
Mrs Sharp, 46, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, and her neighbour, Paul Meehan, 39, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have both been bailed until October.
Tia lived with her mother Natalie Sharp, 30, and her partner David Niles, 29, in Mitcham, Surrey, about ten miles away, but was said to have stayed at her grandmother's house regularly.
Chair of the bench Charu Joglekar asked for the details of the murder not to be opened in court as they did not have jurisdiction.
He said: 'The matter you are charged with is indictable only.
'We are therefore sending you to the Central Criminal Court for this matter to be dealt with on August 15 where you will be seen via video link.'
