A 12-year-old boy who went missing from a social services care home last week has made contact with his family, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

Police said he got in touch with his family and carers at the weekend, but did not give his exact location.

It is thought he is either in South Wales or the Swindon area.

Police are appealing to anyone who knows where he is to contact them.
