Woman, newborn infant found after Ga. hotel birth
Police in Georgia say a woman who disappeared shortly after giving birth at a hotel has been found safe.
Authorities in Cobb County say Holly Parker-Heard and her newborn, who had been missing since Saturday, were not hurt.
They say a midwife who was present at the birth is in custody in Carroll County. Police say they're searching for a man identified as Christian Turner, and that both are charged with kidnapping and cruelty to children.
Cobb County Police spokesman Dana Pierce says the infant, who was with the midwife, was doing well at a hospital.
Police say the 27-year-old Parker-Heard disappeared from a hotel near Six Flags Over Georgia.
They say the mother texted a photo of the infant to family members before she disappeared.

Mom, daughter found safe; midwife and man charged with kidnapping
A midwife and a man were charged
with kidnapping a woman and her
new born infant from an Austell hotel
room. Police were still looking for the man.
A mom and her new born infant were found safe after their bizarre disappearance; and police have charged the midwife and a man in their kidnapping, police said Monday.
Cobb County police charged Ms. Rebecca McLarty, 39, and Mr. Christian Turner, 39, with kidnapping and cruelty to children, Sgt. Dana Pierce said. But only Ms. McLarty was in police custody.
Police on Monday were searching for Mr. Turner even as they try to unravel the motive for the kidnapping of Ms. Holly Daenette Parker-Heard and her new born.
“We don’t know if it was random, or some knowledge between the midwife and Holly, or some prearrangement,” Sgt. Pierce said.
Officers began searching for the mother and daughter on Saturday when the two disappeared hours after Ms. Parker-Heard, 27, gave birth to the infant inside an Austell hotel room.
Staff members at Austell Inn and Suites contacted police after finding the blood-contaminated room.
“There were blood-soaked linens, towels and a mattress. All had to be removed because of blood contamination,” Sgt. Pierce said.
The baby’s grandmother also contacted police when she couldn’t reach Ms. Parker-Heard. The mom had emailed the grandmother a picture of herself and the baby. But when the grandmother couldn’t reach Ms. Parker-Heard, she became worried, Sgt. Pierce said.

Police: Disappearance of mother and newborn 'unusual' case
Cobb County police said there are many unanswered questions remaining about the hours a woman and her newborn daughter were missing before they were found at houses in separate counties.
"It is a very unusual case to the extent of when our investigators actually got involved in it," said Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce.
Police were called when the staff at the Austell Inn and Suites at 7377 Riverside Parkway found "blood-soaked linens" and a mattress "contaminated with blood" Saturday afternoon, Pierce said.
That is where they believe Holly Daenette Parker-Heard, 27, gave birth on Saturday.
Police also were called by Parker-Heard's mother after she received a text message with a picture of her new granddaughter.
The day after police started looking for the new mother and her baby, Parker-Heard was found at an "undisclosed" house in Cobb County. Police questioned her at the hospital Sunday and she was well enough to take them to a house in Mabelton where she and her daughter were taken and then separated.
At the same time, Carroll County authorities received a tip telling them where they could find the baby and the midwife who helped deliver her, Rebecca Mclarty.
