Missing family now home, talks with Heartland News
They disappeared back in July, and now they're back home ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with loved ones.
Ashli and Maddie Rauscher disappeared with Ashl's husband Chris.
Nearly two weeks ago they were found in New Orleans.
Chris was arrested, and the girls were brought back home to southeast Missouri.
"Felt like God sent us a miracle, we prayed for 17 weeks and two days," said Robin Layne-Ashli's Mother.
It's a sigh of relief as Robin Layne holds onto her daughter, thankful Ashli and her little one, Madison, are home.
"It was hard for Maddie, said Ashli Rauscher. "She would cry."
It all began back in July. Chris Rauscher, his wife Ashli and daughter Maddie left town without a trace.
Chris Rauscher was a suspect in a burglary in Dexter, plus was accused of stealing a car from a local dealership.
"We went to Mexico, and Indianapolis, Cincinnati then back to Mexico then to Louisiana," said Ashli Rauscher.
For months, family back home in Malden searched for any clues.
Ashli says...she had no idea.
"We honestly were convinced no one was looking for us".
She didn't want to get into all the details about what happened, but wants to make it known that: "Me and Maddie did not want to be there, and it turned into if I had done anything we would have ended up hurt."
