Girl, 11, found alive four days after disappearing into alligator-infested swamp
An 11-year-old girl who disappeared into an alligator-infested swamp in Florida has been found alive after going missing for four days.
Nadia Bloom, who suffers from autism-related disorder Asperger's syndrome, was found by a member of her family's church yesterday, before she was taken to a hospital where she was evaluated and treated for dehydration and insect bites.
James King, who goes to church with Nadia's family and was helping in the search, found her in a dry patch in the middle of the swamp and called authorities.
Speaking after Nadia was found alive and well, her father Jeff Bloom said: 'It all came so fast and it just shows the compassion of the human spirit. It should give everybody encouragement.
When asked how he felt, Mr Bloom said: 'I can't even describe it. Let's give the glory to God.'
Rescue workers battled for two hours to carry Nadia from the swamp after Mr King found her several hours after he started his search.
Speaking at an afternoon news conference earlier today, Winter Springs Police Chief Kevin Brunelle said: 'If I never believed in miracles, I sure do now.'

Nadia’s Parents Speak
WINTER SPRINGS -- For the first time, Nadia Bloom's parents, Jeff and Tanya, spoke to the media, one day after their daughter was found.
Nadia's father said they were living a nightmare. In fact, they were planning another vigil for Tuesday night when they received the news Nadia had been rescued.
“Oh, we're looking forward to the whole story, I mean, it’s got to be awesome,” Jeff said.
Jeff and Tanya still don't know what their 11-year old-daughter went through in the five days before her miraculous recovery.
The man who found Nadia, James King, actually tried to call the family. The family didn't recognize his name on the caller ID, so they didn't answer the phone.
It was Tanya's brother who broke the news to Jeff.
