ROBERT WILLIAMS 15 - Resolven, Neath (South Wales) - 22/03/02
Robert was 15 years old when he went missing from his home in Resolven, near Neath in South Wales on 28 March 2002. That weekend he was seen by some of his friends and said he would go home on Sunday, however, he did not return and has not been seen since.
Although it has been rumoured that Robert might have run away with a travelling fair, there has been no news since and his whereabouts remain a mystery.
His family are desperate to have some news of Robert and urge him to get in touch. His mum says: ‘Please phone, Robert. I’m not angry, I just want you home.’
Robert can call the confidential service Message Home on Freefone 0800 700 740 where he can leave a message that we can forward to his loved ones on his behalf.
When Robert was last seen, he was 5ft 4in, slim with mousey blond hair.

Missing person appeal from Neath in 2002
Robert was aged 15 when he was reported missing from his home in Resolven, Neath.
Despite extensive enquiries and numerous appeals for information over the past eight years, police have been unable to locate him.
Following a review of outstanding missing persons in the force area, a team of detectives are now conducting enquiries into the case.
As part of the investigation, police have released an age progression photograph to depict what Robert Williams would look like today.
Detective Inspector Mark Lewis, of the South Wales Police Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “All outstanding missing person cases remain open and are revisited periodically in case new evidence comes to light.
“I have a team of officers investigating the disappearance of Robert Williams who went missing from his home in Resolven almost eight years ago. As part of that process we will assess, re-visit and evaluate all information gathered up until now as well as identifying any potential new lines of enquiry. I will remain determined to seek an outcome for Robert ’s mother, family and friends.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have information about his disappearance to come forward and contact the police.
“His mother, Cheryl Davies, is still deeply anxious to find her son. I would urge anyone with information to contact us.”

Neath Mum's desperate plea as police search for missing son ends
THE mother of a Neath Valley man who went missing as a schoolboy almost 10 years ago has been given the heartbreaking news that he is almost certainly dead.
Police have confirmed they have ended their investigation into the disappearance of Robert Williams after carrying out "proof of life" inquiries.
Robert was aged 15 when he was reported missing from his Resolven home in March, 2002, and no trace of him has been found despite an extensive investigation.
Although his mother Cheryl is too upset to speak to the media, she has pleaded through the police for any information about her son's disappearance and likely death.
A review of the case has been carried out over the past 12 months, including the release of an age progression photograph showing what Robert might have looked like as an adult.
Detective Inspector Mark Lewis, of the South Wales Police Specialist Crime Investigation Team, said: "Over the past year we have revisited all potential lines of inquiry.
"More than 100 further witness statements have been taken and we have also carried out extensive proof of life inquiries which have all proved negative.
"In addition we have searched the national fingerprint and DNA databases, checking medical records and contacting a large number of organisations in the hope that Robert may have been linked to them since his disappearance.
"As a result of these inquiries there is tragically no evidence that Robert Williams is alive and I have now informed Robert's family that the most likely outcome is that Robert has died sometime over the past nine years."
Several sightings were reported after Robert went missing.
Each time Cheryl and other family members want straight there by car in the hope of catching up with her son, but without success.
Mr Lewis added: "Cheryl is naturally devastated by the news and is asking through this media appeal for anyone with information about Robert's disappearance and likely death to come forward and provide any information they know.
"Every day since Robert's disappearance has been a struggle and traumatic for Cheryl and her family.
"She is pleading with the public to help provide her with closure and end this nightmare that she has had to endure for over nine years.
"All outstanding missing person cases remain open and if any new evidence came to light then we would fully investigate it."

I understand McCann's torment, says Robert Williams' mother
A MUM has spoken of her heartbreak after police gave up the nine-year search for her missing son.
In the week the Metropolitan Police agreed to use their expertise to reinvigorate the search for still-missing Madeleine McCann, South Wales mum Cheryl Davies can still clearly picture the moment 15-year-old Robert Williams walked out of their home – the last time she ever saw him.
“It’s as if it happened yesterday,” she said.
“I can tell you what he said, what he was wearing, I can see him walking towards the garden gate. I relive it every day.”
Last week, South Wales Police told 41-year-old Cheryl that Robert was probably dead.
Officers decided to close his case after a 12-month renewed attempt to find answers surrounding his disappearance from Resolven, Neath, on March 22, 2002.
Cheryl said she accepted the decision but said it meant she would have to live without closure for the rest of her life.
“As a mother you cannot give up hope that he is out there,” she said.
“Losing a child is the worst thing that a parent can ever go through – deep down you don’t want to accept it.
“When it happens to other people at least they have a body to bury, a grave to visit.
“I don’t think I will ever have that closure, I think I’ll live like this for the rest of my life now.”
