Police searching for missing autistic girl from West Seattle

Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl from West Seattle who has been missing since last week, authorities said.

Jordan King, who suffers from Asperger syndrome, a mild form of autism, ran out of the family's home on 45th Avenue Southwest last Thursday after an argument with her mother, according to a police report.

Jordan's learning disabilities prevent her from memorizing things like addresses and phone numbers, said her mother, Paula King. Family and friends put up fliers and searched the area over the weekend; so far, there have been no leads.

"There's not even been a sighting," Paula King said. "That's what scares me."

Jordan has never run away from home before, her mother said. The teenager is home-schooled.

"If we lose her ... I don't know what I'll do. If she isn't found in the next few days, I'm going to have a breakdown."

Jordan was last seen wearing light pink pants, a black tank top, black tennis shoes and a black hoodie. She's 5 feet 2 inches tall, with hazel eyes and dark brown hair, and weighs 138 pounds.
