6-year old girl kidnapped in Nigeria found alive: police

The kidnapped six-year old daughter of a oil company boss in Nigeria has been found alive, abandoned in a church in the southern city of Port Harcourt, police said Wednesday.

Prite Anthony was snatched on her way to school on Monday, in the latest of a long series of abductions of oil company workers and their families in the oil-rich south of the country.

Anthony's kidnapping has not been claimed.

Nigeria is the world's eight largest oil producer, and has seen a spate of kidnappings in the past two years, often by criminal gangs seeking a ransom but also sometimes held by group for political ends.
