Amber Alert Issued For Abducted Teenage Girl

CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- A 20-year-old man who abducted his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend at knifepoint in Chula Vista was at large Sunday, and an Amber Alert was issued for the girl, police said, according to City News Service.

'Abducted' Pregnant Teen Calls Home

Mother Says Calif. Teen Taken at Knifepoint Only Cooperating With Boyfriend to Stay Alive



A pregnant California teenager allegedly abducted at knifepoint Saturday morning by her baby's 20-year-old father has called home twice to say she is safe, but authorities continue to search for the teen.

"We have some reservations about this case," Bernard Gonzales, a spokesman for Chula Vista, Calif., police, told ABC News. "But you don't just shut things down."

"We have a teenager's welfare at stake," he said. "We want to get this guy in; we want to question him."

An Amber Alert has been in effect in California since Chula Vista police responded to a call Saturday morning about the kidnapping of Ashlee Crocitto, 16, outside the home where she lives with her mother, Bobbi Crocitto, Gonzales said.

Amber Alert Issued For Pregnant Teen

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Police said a 20-year-old man kidnapped his former girlfriend, a pregnant teenager, near Heritage Park on Saturday morning.

Sixteen-year-old Ashlee Crocitto was leaving for work on Saturday morning when Carlos Antonio stopped by her residence in the 1300 block of Santa Ynez Avenue, Chula Vista police said.

Witnesses said Antonio forced Crocitto into his car at knifepoint while her mother tried to stop him.

Amber Alert still active for pregnant teenager

CHULA VISTA: An Amber Alert remained in effect late yesterday for a 16-year-old Chula Vista girl who was kidnapped at knifepoint Saturday.

Ashlee Crocitto was abducted by a former boyfriend about 8:45 a.m. Saturday from a parking lot at her mother's residence, police said. Neighbors said the girl's mother tried to stop the suspect, but he had a knife at her daughter's throat.

The girl has called her mother twice since the abduction, Saturday and yesterday, to say she was all right, police said.

The Amber Alert Web site said Crocitto is four months pregnant and described her as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes.

The suspect is Carlos Antonio, 20, who is described as Latino, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his chin and “Carmelo” tattooed on his back.

He may be driving a bluish-green 1999 Hyundai Accent with California license plate 4EPA103. Anyone with information can call Chula Vista police at (619) 691-5151.

Mother: Kidnapped Teenager Found In Mexico

SAN DIEGO -- The mother of a teenager allegedly abducted by her estranged boyfriend said her daughter was found in Mexico.

The mother of 16-year-old Ashlee Crocitto said authorities told her the teenager was found safe.

She was found with 20-year-old Carlos Antonio, her former boyfriend, her mother said.

Authorities will reunite her with her daughter Monday night, she said.
