‎As the search for missing 11-year-old Celina Cass enters its fifth day, police are now turning their attentions towards her computer as it has been revealed that her stepfather has a troubled past filled with allegations of criminal behaviour and mental illness.

Celina vanished without a trace from her bedroom on Monday, where she was last seen playing on her computer around 9pm. The next morning she was gone.

Police are desperately searching for her and plan to question everyone in the small town of Stewartstown, New Hampshire, which is just a mile away from the Canadian border.

As search efforts continue for an 11 year old New Hamsphire girl who simply vanished from her family’s home last Monday night, police and FBI struggle for clues in her mysterious disappearance. It’s being reported by MSNBC News that FBI agents feel the key to unlocking the mystery may be in what the young girl was doing when her parents last saw her on the computer. The last trace of computer activity will likely be crucial in understanding what happened next.

Search efforts have extended beyond the micro-local area of the girl’s small town of 800 people in Stewartstown, NH to include Canada, which is only a few minutes away from where she went missing and which also borders Vermont. FBI offers $25K reward in case of missing NH girl

The FBI said Saturday it was offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of an 11-year-old northern New Hampshire girl who's been missing for five days.

The reward would also cover information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for the disappearance of fifth grader Celina Cass, Supervisory Special Agent Kieran Ramsey said at a news conference at the Stewartstown Community School.

Search for missing New Hampshire girl enters 5th day

Law enforcement officials are in their fifth day of searching for a missing 11-year-old northern New Hampshire girl.

Jane Young of the state attorney general's office said Saturday that investigators are combing through any information they received from overnight in their search for Celina Cass.

Young says a new cellphone tower put in place in the Stewartstown area after Celina went missing will be a big help for investigators to communicate. The rural town with rugged terrain is close to the Canadian border.

Dive teams will search bodies of water for Celina Cass

New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Jane Young spoke at a Saturday press conference for Celina Cass and announced that dive teams will search surrounding bodies of water.

Young stressed that this does not indicate they are looking for a body, rather they refuse to leave any stone unturned.

She reminded everyone that the FBI posted a $25,000 reward earlier today and an anonymous citizen posted a $5,000 reward with no strings attached. Any person or people who provide information that leads to Celina's whereabouts will receive the money.

States Asked to Help Search for Missing N.H. Girl

‎Police deny they have given up hope that missing 11-year-old New Hampshire girl Celina Cass will be found alive, and the state has asked for manpower and equipment from neighboring states to aide in the search.

"It also could well be true that they just don't have any really viable leads on what happened or where Celina may be and they're hoping that the reward money will bring someone forward," said ABC News consultant and former FBI agent Brad Garrett.

"If someone has lured her away from her house, the odds of something bad happening are reasonably high," Garrett added.

Divers were deployed to a pond in northern New Hampshire on Sunday in the search for an 11-year-old girl who's been missing for several days.

State Fish and Game Department divers searched Back Pond for any sign of fifth-grader Celina Cass, Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said. The small pond is less than a mile from Celina's home in Stewartstown, a community of 800 residents with one blinking streetlight and a handful of stores.

The father of missing girl Celina Cass gave a plea for her to return home Sunday in a news conference.

“We are all wondering where my daughter is, and we're hoping for her safety,” said Adam Laro.

Laro was in the hospital when Cass disappeared, the family said.
“If she hears me now, 'Tell her daddy is OK,'” he said. “Whenever you're ready to come home, Celina, daddy will be here waiting for you.”

Laro also said he was appreciative of law enforcement's efforts in trying to locate his daughter.

Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said they are still searching by air, land and water.

Missing children's expert weighs in on Celina Cass

"Commonly when kids disappear it is from them running away," said David Finkelhor, of The Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire.

Now in its sixth day, the search for 11-year-old Celina Cass has not lost steam, but there is little question that with every passing day without a sign of the missing girl, hope diminishes that she might be found alive.

"If she just went out and got injured, you'd expect somebody to have found her by now or made her way back," said Finkelhor.

David Finkelhor heads up the University of New Hampshire's Crimes against Children Research Center. He says there are only four main scenarios to explain her disappearance. Running away always tops the list but it is clear authorities don't believe that is the case here.

Celina was last seen in her bedroom on her home computer on Monday. Social media is now always a concern.

"The idea that she went off to meet someone that she met on the internet, we find that most of those kids are in the 13 and older group and so she is a little bit young for that, but it is not completely out of the realm of possibility," said Finkelhor.

Abduction by a stranger is another fear, but seems less likely in this case because abductions by someone unknown to the child are quite rare in rural situations.

"Those tend to be very unusual and in fact, an awful lot of the cases that are first treated as stranger abduction turn out to be foul play at the hands of family members," said Finkelhor.

Foul play by a family member is the fourth possibility.

Family members have shielded themselves from cameras and reporters, and investigators have looked closely at the home, even combing through the trash. All of this is certainly hard on everyone, but the parents especially.

"To treat them as though they are suspects is just a terrible insult, but it is something that police really have to do and I am sure that they are considering in this case," said Finkelhor.

This case is tearing at the fabric of this tiny New England town.

Still Missing: Divers Search Pond for Missing Girl Celina Cass

The search for missing 11-year-old Celina Cass has led to a pond near her house in northern New Hampshire.

On Sunday divers searched Back Pond for any trace of Celina, who was last seen in her house in the small town of Stewartstown on Monday night. It's not clear what, if anything, they found, or what led police to search the pond.

Local police and the FBI also continued their ground search in New Hampshire, as well as neighboring Vermont and Canada, said Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young. The Canadian border is just a mile outside of town.

"We're searching for Celina Cass as a missing person," she said. "We have no evidence to categorize this any other way."

VT authority confirms a body was found in the CT River near home of missing NH girl

Essex County states attorney Vincent Illuzzi has confirmed that investigators have found a body in the Connecticut River Monday morning, where police are searching for missing 11-year-old New Hampshire girl Celina Cass.

Illuzzi says the body was found about 9:00 a.m.. He says an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The body has not been identified yet, and New Hampshire authorities would not talk about the discovery.

The Associated Press reports the body found is a female.

This is about a quarter-of-a-mile from where Cass was last seen, in her home in West Stewartstown home on July 25.

State Police from Vermont and New Hampshire have a heavy presence on the Power House Road in Canaan, Vermont, where the search for a missing 11-year-old Celina Cass continues.
