Suspects Arrested in Holloway Case
Three young men who were previously detained as suspects in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway have been re-arrested in the case, the Aruban public prosecutor's office said Wednesday.
Dutch teenager Joran van der Sloot and two Surinamese brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in manslaughter and causing seriously bodily harm that caused the death of the 18-year-old American, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
"The public prosecutor's office has ordered their renewed arrest because further investigation into the disappearance has led to new incriminating evidence," the prosecutor's office said in the statement.
Van der Sloot was arrested in the Netherlands, where he is attending a university, and is expected to be extradited to this Dutch Caribbean island. The Kalpoe brothers were arrested in Aruba.
Holloway disappeared on May 30, 2005, hours before she was scheduled to fly home to Alabama. The 18-year-old was last seen in public leaving a bar with Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers.
All three young men previously have denied any role in Holloway's disappearance. The brothers were expected to appear in an Aruban court on Friday, when prosecutors planned to president new evidence to judge.

Suspects in Holloway case to appear in Aruba court
(CNN) -- A court hearing in Aruba on Friday will consider whether authorities were right to re-arrest two brothers in connection with the disappearance of an Alabama teenager more than two years ago.
Deepak, 24, and Satish Kalpoe, 21, were arrested Wednesday in Aruba. A third suspect, Joran van der Sloot, was arrested in the Netherlands the same day.
The men apparently were the last people to see Natalee Holloway alive after she left a bar in Aruba.
Prosecutors said the three arrests came because of "new material in the investigation." No information was immediately available about what new evidence led to the arrests.
Hans Mos, Aruba's chief public prosecutor, said only that the evidence is "so important that we think we should have arrested these three guys, which we did yesterday."
Aruban police interrogated the Kalpoes on Wednesday, Aruban prosecutor Dop Kruimel said.
At Friday's preliminary arrest hearing, the judge can authorize their detention for eight more days, meaning police have that much time to produce evidence. The suspects then go before a judge again, Kruimel said.

Ocean Search - Aruba - December 2007
January 10, 2008, 08:45:38 PM
Persistence
Update: Thurs 11-Jan 0030 hrs
The bathymetric survey of the new grid is completed. The search area now totals approximately 57 sq miles, compared to the original 22 sq miles.
Maritime map making has long been an integral aspect of ocean exploration. As adventure seeking sea-faring men of old expanded their frontier, master artisans such as Ortelius and Cicero painstakingly plotted their progress. Instead of producing drab plots where form follows function, they used their artistry to produce meaningful navigation aids and passionately capture the spirit of exploration into their product. Areas of the yet-unknown are filled with caricatures of sea monsters and mermaids.
Today, a new generation of maritime map making, perhaps ushered in by Heezen and Tharpe, provides a new look into the abyss. Hand-painted murals with Latin place names are now replaced with computer generated 3D perspective views with satellite imagery. The old merchant ships and frigates that once sailed these waters charting coastlines and reefs claimed by the sea can now be found and mapped. It is an interesting connection between the old and new. We sail the same seas. . . ."
*************
This is the site for the search, put up by the geological engineer on the search. It is a fascinating read:

Following on from the previous article:

Dutch posters reported that the suspect was on a Dutch TV program, with his parents, to discuss with a (rather popular) crime investigator/journalist/TV programme & documentary maker, Peter R. de Vries.
De Vries has made a documentary on the case, and he believes Joran is guilty.
After the show Joran threw a glass of wine in Peter's face.
Peter's comment: 'it shows how Joran has sometimes difficulty controlling his actions'.
