Vila Nova de Cerveira

German Pedophile Suspect lived in Cerveira

Since 2003, German police have suspected a German pedophile of having escaped to Portugal but more specifically to the area of Vila Nova de Cerveira.

The fugitive, a musician of 59 years, is suspected to have been involved in 116 cases of sexual abuses against minors and being the ring leader of a sect in Braveira that covered for the sexual abuses against minors. The sect was allegedly operating from Cerveira all these years but German authorities now suspect the operation has been operating in Tui, Spain.

The German authorities consider the suspect a very dangerous individual. Ulrich Schulz is one known musician German who also uses fake names such as Oliver Shanti and Oliver Serano-Alve. He measures 1,86 meters and weighs about 150 kilos.

In available photographs to the police, the suspect is described as having a long beard, long hair and blue-dark eyes.

The German police have asked for help from all European countries, in the scope of the Europol. German authorities also still offer, in exchange for information on the suspect whereabouts, three thousand euros. For more details, please consult the following site:

Scots Pair Probed Over Missing Boy

TWO paedophile murder suspects are being investigated over the disappearance of a boy on the island of Gran Canaria. Yeremi Vargas, seven, vanished in March from Vecinardio – where child sex abusers Charles O’Neill, 44, and William Lauchlan, 30, have set up home. After the Sunday Mail revealed the pair had moved into the town, police have focused the Yeremi inquiry on them.

The fiends were once charged with murdering a woman due to give evidence against them. O’Neill and Lauchlan, who have both served jail sentences in Scotland for prolonged abuse of young boys, run a cleaning business, Rainbow Cleaning Services, in Gran Canaria. Our story exposed how unsuspecting parents were letting the perverts into their holiday homes.

Parents of missing Yeremi Vargas accuse webpages of asking for money using the name of their missing child

It's nine months since the seven year old boy went missing from Gran Canaria, and the parents have underlined the difference between how they see their case and that of the McCann family

It’s nine months since seven year old Yeremi Vargas vanished when playing in the street outside his grandmother’s house in Vecindario on Gran Canaria.

Now his parents have placed a denuncia before the Guardia Civil after discovering that there are webpages on the internet which have been using their son’s picture ‘to ask for money or make money in some way’. The family say they want to make it completely clear that such pages are doing so without their permission. ‘Anything that asks for money and uses data about the disappearance of Yeremi is a fraud’ they say.

The parents, Ithaisa Suárez and Juan Francisco Vargas say they consider it to be ‘immoral’ that people are trying to sell or raise money on the disappearance of a child.

The Guardia Civil say they are now investigating the allegations and the web pages to see if a crime has been committed.

Yeremi’s mother has proved reticent to compare the case of Yeremi with that of Madeleine McCann –
‘Her parents have opted for another way, which is fine by us, but we are not looking for such (media) repercussion. They have invited us to go to England to take part in meetings with them and to record a programme, but we have refused. We consider it to be an unnecessary circus which would not bring anything positive in our search for Yeremi’.

Pam

You know that I am absolutely against the free-movement of paedophiles. However, just because someone / some media says so shouldn't make it "fact".

I would like to see the source of evidence that there are 80 Spanish Paedophiles on Gran Canaria and 20 British ones.Other nationalities not disclosed.

We have just witnessed tonight the "outing" of Christian Ridout by Metodo3. How dare they focus attention on a young man who MAY not have anything to do with Madeleine's case!?

"He was interrogated by the Spanish police, but as they had not received the list from the UK, the connection had not been established immediately. His parents run a pub in Praia da Luz. He is 32 years old and left Portugal two years ago. This is confirmed by the Spanish police. According to Clarence Mitchell, Metodo3 is researching this young man. They present him to all the media as a suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine."

How many more victims do we have to have?

Metodo3 have IMO been irresponsible and far too vocal. They report sightings which come to nothing. They are now being accusatory when they have no foundation. Metodo3 should be prevented from doing this - and only the McCanns can stop this inappropropriate media attention. I would terminate their contract with immediate effect.....what would you do?

Did you read the follow-up to this Crys? Apparently, over 2 years ago he had sent inappropriate text messages to a 12 year old. Absolutely unacceptable I agree, but perhaps he was not the "sicko" that the newspapers would have us believe.

Originallly we were told:

The man's parents live in the tiny coastal resort where he is alleged to have 'groomed' and sexually assaulted a 12 year old British girl two years ago...

It was then reported that:

The 32-year-old, who has been accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 12-year-old girl, is reported to have been working at his parents' pub, The Plough And Harrow, close to where Madeleine went missing.

I must admit that I was taken in by the original spin. Will I ever learn?

The National Police have detained the presumed author of an abduction attempt of a 10 year old girl in the La Garita de Telde district in Gran Canaria. This abduction attempt comes on top of the disappearances of Sara Morales in Gran Canaria and little Yéremi Vargas in the south east of the island, where other child abduction attempts have occurred.

No more news has been released by the police due to the secrecy of the operation.

From ABC Canarias

January 9th 2008

The investigation of the abduction attempt in the La Garita area is being co-ordinated by the Unit for Specialised Delinquency and Violence (UDEV) of the National Police, a section that was created a year and a half ago, following the disappearance of Sara Morales, aged 16. The police questioned the small girl who described the abduction attempt on the day it occurred, saying that her attacker has a “strong complexion, is dark haired, could be aged about 35 and drove a white van”.

The vehicle has been one of the factors that has increased the social alarm in Gran Canaria, as it has been implicated in other similar denunciations since the abduction of Yéremi Vargas, in Vecindario, on the 10th March of last year. Although the van is one of the most important clues in this case, the police do not have the numberplate, as nobody was able to remember the number in the cases where it was spotted, due to their state of nerves.

Five people were able to describe the van in question, the girl, her mother who rushed out to help her daughter when she heard her screams, a friend of the girl and two boys who were relatively close to Madreselva street, where the incident occurred.

The small girl was attacked on Friday evening, near to the square of the Yońé headquarters. The abductor asked the girl if she knew where this site was and offered her five Euros if she would join him in the van. The girl indicated the address of the square but refused to get into the vehicle, upon which the driver got out of the van and tried to force her inside, he grabbed her around her neck with such force that visible marks were left, according to witness statements.

The girl struggled and shouted, alarming a friend who was nearby and her mother who heard her screams from inside her house and rushed out to look for her daughter. The arrival of the mother and the friend and two other witnesses caused the abductor to desist.

Teleactualidad

January 10th 2008

The Chief Commissioner of the Judicial police Brigade, Ignacio Bádenas has led the recent operations in Salinetas

The police, who have just left the scene, have removed part of the gardens that surround the main building.

Marcos J.R.C., the presumed author of the abduction attempt of a young girl in La Garita (Telde) last Friday, was taken this morning by police agents to an industrial ship situated in the Salinetas polygon where an animal incinerator operated until the ship was sealed off. Police officers have been at the site since 10.30 trying to collect evidence, from inside the incinerator as well as the from the surrounding area, from where they removed earth in the search for signs that could link the suspect with other possible cases, given that during last Friday’s events, little Sandra fortunately did not enter the man’s white van and neither was she taken anywhere.

Police are searching for remains close to the Salinetas crematorium

The ship has been sealed off for four years, but the incinerator was used for the last time two months ago and the man detained has a police record for sexual abuse.
Officers from the Police National Corps are at this moment searching for possible remains in the areas surrounding the industrial ship in Salinetas that includes the animal crematorium where Marcos R.C. the presumed author of last Friday’s attempted abduction worked. According to ACN Press, the man arrested has police records – although apparently not criminal records – for sexual abuse.

The scientific police are still checking the Salinetas crematorium where the author of the abduction attempt worked.

These are abandoned installations that are in a very poor state, where the Police are trying to find evidence or remains of the children who have disappeared lately in Gran Canaria-

The presumed abductor of the girl from La Garita will appear before the Court nş 2 of Telde this Friday.

The time for his appearance has not yet been established as this depends upon the latest investigations.

http://www.teldeactualidad.com/index.php

********
Marcos J.R. will appear before the Telde Court nş 2 at 16.30 this afternoon, whilst his house is still being searched.

The Scientific Police have not found bloodstains in the white van belonging to the arrested man nor have they found human remains in the Salinetas crematorium. They are still looking for evidence to link Marcos – the 37 year old detained for the presumed abduction attempt of Sandra Domínguez – to the disappearance of Sara Morales and Yéremi Vargas.

http://www.teldeactualidad.com/index.php

*********

From ABC.es news:

The psychosis concerning the disappearance of children in Las Palmas is notable, given that the case of Yéremi Vargas joins that of Sara Morales Hernández, whose whereabouts are unknown since August of 2006. Because of this the abduction attempt in Telde of Sandra D.P. aged 8, increased the alarm in the island and the subsequent detention of a suspect by the Police immediately reminded people that the case of the small boy from Vecindario is still open.

No concrete proof

The possibility that the cases of Yéremi and Sandra are related was immediately discussed by those in charge of the searches, who began to work on this. Not because there is any concrete proof – simply there are new circumstances that should be investigated – but to clear all the doubts in this sense.

Yesterday morning the judge authorised searches of the detained man’s family house in Lugo de Las Palmas and of an old domestic animal crematorium situated in the Salineta industrial polygon, where it appears that this individual worked and used to sleep. In this conflictive zone he also had his group of friends. Sources confirmed that no evidence was found on the floor, whilst the inspection of the crematorium is much more complex due to it being an abandoned site where dead animals were brought, and therefore many samples can be found – such as bone or blood remains – which then have to be examined in order to determine whether they are human.

The work of the Scientific Police is also centred on the vehicles used by the suspect – a Ford Courier van and a Citroën Berlingo. It should be remembered that some witnesses spoke of the presence of a van on the day of Yéremi’s disappearance. Samples have also been taken from the detained man in order to obtain his DNA.

The results of these analyses and any subsequent matches will be known in approximately one week, and if no other evidence is found – Yéremi’s clothes, personal objects, a witness or a confession -–it will not be possible to confirm that the arrested man is implicated in the disappearance of the small boy from Vecindario. It is notable that the crematorium is located half way between Telde, where the abduction attempt occurred, and Vecindario, where Yéremi lives.

Evidence

The first task for the Police therefore, is to search for evidence that the man did in effect attempt to abduct Sandra, which is not easy given that in this case the testimony of the victim alone – she is only eight years old – could be insufficient for the judge to order the man’s imprisonment. However, it does appear that there is evidence to implicate him, as demonstrated by the fact that the judge ordered his detention and authorised the searches. In addition to the Police and the Civil Guard of Gran Canaria, the investigation has the participation of agents from the General Commissariat of Scientific Police, the Judicial Police and the Central Operative Unit of the Armed Institute.

http://tinyurl.com/359nbg

**********
A young girl from Vecindario who suffered an abduction attempt a year ago has just arrived at the Telde Court accompanied by her mother and two policemen. The girl will participate in the identification process of the presumed abductor of the little girl from La Garita.

A dozen police officers are guarding the entrance to the Telde Court where the presumed attacker of a young girl from La Garita is giving his declaration to the judge.
The interrogation could last for several hours and could be interrupted tonight to continue tomorrow morning, although sources close to the investigation hope that the interrogation will end this evening.

Police have searched a workshop in Puerto de la Luz where the detained man worked.

The analysis of evidence found in the Salinetas crematorium will be very laborious due to the dirty state of the site.

The presumed author of the abduction attempt kept dead animals in his house in the capital of Gran Canaria.

Latest news from Las Canarias:

The judge has charged Marcos Javier Rodríguez with the presumed crimes of attempted illegal abduction, illicit possession of weapons and the theft of a vehicle

The magistrate Oscar Rey Muńoz has ordered his unconditional imprisonment without possibility for bail.

During the identity parade carried out in the Telde Court, Sandra (Domínguez) recognised Marcos J.C.R as the person who tried to abduct her last Friday in La Garita. The girl’s father Rafael Domínguez clarified that Sandra is fine and that at no moment did she have any doubts when identifying Marcos as the person who tried to abduct her.

Alleged child kidnapper ordered to prison in Telde, Gran Canaria

The 37 year old construction worker was identifed in a line up by the ten year old Sandra Domínguez

The instruction judge in the First Instance Court number two in Telde on Gran Canaria, has ordered prison without bail for 37 year old Marcos Javier Rodríguez Cabrera, who was arrested last Thursday in connection with the attempted kidnap of a 10 year old girl, Sandra Domínguez.

Three young girls who have all suffered kidnap attempts took part in a police identification parade on Friday, and the police say they are investigating to see whether the arrested construction worker has any links to the Yeremi Vargas or Sara Morales cases, two children who have both been missing from the island for some time. Sandra’s father has told the press that his daughters hand did not tremble as she identified the accused.

The judge heard how the suspect allegedly tried to lure Sandra Domínguez into his van with five Euros. Sandra however struggled with her assailant and managed to escape, when she alerted her mother, who in turn alerted the police.
The judge questioned Marcos for five hours.

The suspect now faces charges of attempted kidnap, illegal possession of a firearm and the theft of vehicle. A search of his home was carried out and his workplace, an old pet crematorium, was also inspected.

A specialist anthropologist has been called in to identify bones found at the scene, to establish whether they come from animals or humans.

Very quick summary of a couple of points in El Mundo La Gaceta de Canarias by ines:

In 2002 Marcos Rodríguez was sentenced to 20 months in prison for abusing his 18 month old daughter.

The man detained as Marcos's presumed accomplice has been released without charges after 3 hours of questioning by a judge.
