This is a miracle after such a terrible ordeal for this family! Just goes to show why we should lock our car doors. Mine does not automatically lock and I think all automobile manufacturers should make this standard!

Hi CAM, it's a bit of a dilemma this, because the emergency services prefer people not to lock car doors - it makes getting people out of a crash quicker and easier. Perhaps car manufacturers could install an external 'unlock' button underneath the car for use in emergencies!

That's a very good suggestion Tizzy. I wonder if there will be backlash from the community regarding the taking of this child by just opening the door and these types of suggestions will be put forth? Will have to wait and see. I've not heard anything about this on the news here.
