Search is on for 11-year-old girl missing in Northern New Hampshire ‎

Police are searching for an 11-year-old girl who wasn't in bed when her parents went to wake her up Tuesday morning, according to police.

According to a report from WMUR-TV in Manchester, Celina Cass, of West Stewartstown, was last seen on her computer in her family's home at 9 p.m. Monday.

State police said they don't have any indication that she ran away or that another family member took her. There are no signs of struggle at the house, police said.

Police describe Cass as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 95 lbs, with brown, waist-length hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, pink pullover, blue shorts and shoes.

The N.H. Fish and Game Department is helping with the search in the North Country, and state police have started a K-9 search. Border patrol units have also been called to assist.

2 Boats Used In Search For Missing 11-Year-Old ‎

The search for missing 11-year-old West Stewartstown girl Celina Cass is continuing Wednesday, and the Fish and Game department has begun to use two boats to search the Connecticut River, officials said.

Cass was last seen on her computer in her family's home on Washington Street at 9 p.m. Monday. When her parents went to wake her up the next morning, they told police she wasn't there.

State police, fish and game and the U.S. Border Patrol is helping search the area looking for the girl.

The Cass home is near the New Hampshire-Canada border.

On Tuesday, friends, family and neighbors handed out photos and posters of the missing girl.

State and federal law enforcement officials are searching the community of West Stewartstown for Celina Cass. Authorities say she was last seen at her home on Monday about 9 p.m.

Police say there's no indication she ran away or that someone took her, nor are there signs of a struggle.

Her stepfather, Wendell Noyes, said Wednesday Celina is a quiet girl. He said she would not leave home on her own.

Desperate search for missing 11-year-old girl who vanished from her bedroom two days ago

Police are desperately searching for an 11-year-old girl who disappeared from her bedroom almost two days ago.

Celina Cass was last seen playing on her computer at about 9pm on Sunday. When her parents went to wake her up the next morning, she had vanished.
Her disappearance has shaken the small town of Stewartstown, New Hampshire, just a mile from the Canadian border, as police crews search the Connecticut River for any sign of the little girl.
There was no indication Celina had run away or was kidnapped, and there were no signs of a struggle.
Her stepfather, Wendell Noyers, described the 11-year-old as a quiet girl who would never have left home by herself.

He declined to comment further, saying I'm not really at liberty to say anything.'
Today the FBI joined the search, and agents are believed to be trawling through Celina's phone and computer records.

FBI joins search for girl missing from NH town ‎

The disappearance of an 11-year-old girl from her house just a mile from the Canadian border rattled nerves in her small town Wednesday as crews searched the Connecticut River and cordoned the house with police tape.Celina Cass was last seen in her house at a computer around 9 p.m. Monday and was gone the next morning, authorities said. Police have said that there's no indication she ran away or that someone took her, and there are no signs of a struggle.

On Wednesday, the FBI joined the investigation into Celina's disappearance and prosecutors from the attorney general's office arrived in Stewartstown and took charge of it.

"We are still desperately looking for her," said Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young, who typically handles homicide cases.

The specter of the girl's disappearance hung heavy over Stewartstown, a community of 800 residents with one blinking streetlight and a handful of stores.

"It's creepy," said Shannon Towles, who owns Towles Mini-Mart on Route 3. "Things like this don't happen here. I know that's kind of a tired phrase. I'm an overprotective mom as it is. Now it's going to be way worse."

Where is Celina? 11-year-old NH girl disappears ‎

The search is on for 11-year-old Celina Cass.

"We are all just heartbroken about this situation," said Cathy Paige of West Stewartstown.

The little girl was reported missing from the family's West Stewartstown apartment Tuesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon crews with New Hampshire State Police had searched the water and woods near the family's home.

"We're just hoping and praying she comes back safely and unharmed," Paige said. "That's what everybody in this community is hoping for."

Neighbors who know the Cass family say Celina did not show signs of trouble and is a happy, well-adjusted kid.

"She was hanging out with all the kids and joining in with everything," Paige said.

Celina was last seen using the family computer Monday night. State police tell WCAX they are searching the computer and the family's phone activity for clues. Meanwhile, leaders at the girl's school are offering counseling to classmates.

"We have had some response but not as much as we would have liked, because I think some of these kids need to talk out the issue and I think the biggest issue is everything is unknown," School Superintendent Robert Mills said.

Police have not confirmed that online activity is connected to Celina's disappearance, but educators and parents are reminding kids to be careful on the computer.

"When you go online the person you think you are communicating with may not be that person. But when you are a young person, 11 or so, that may not register," Mills said.

FBI joins search for missing Stewartstown girl

Two days after a schoolgirl was discovered missing from her home in this small town near the Canadian border, an anxious community is banding together.

"We're building a bridge of hope," said Lori Stott, who stood alongside U.S. Route 3 with a picture of the missing girl so passing motorists could see it Wednesday.

Two doors down from the Washington Street home where Celina Cass, 11, lived with her family, a huge law enforcement contingent — including the FBI, New Hampshire and Vermont State Police, the U.S. Border Patrol and the Fish and Game Department — have holed up in a land management company office to direct a search.

"We are desperately trying to look for her," said Jane Young, senior assistant attorney general at 5 p.m.

Even as she spoke, state police detectives were wrapping the driveway of the girl's home in yellow tape; the family and friends who had been gathering there all day left the property.

South of town, conservation officers and border patrol officers were seen searching the roadside.

Earlier, the girl's mother, Louisa Cass, walked out of the building where investigators were, shielded by a blanket and friends.

Officials are saying little about the investigation, but encourage anyone with information to contact them.

There are more questions than there are answers.

Officials with the Attorney General's Office and the FBI spoke in a news conference Wednesday night about missing 11-year-old Celina Cass.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said the office is trying to bring Celina home safely, and they're treating this as a missing persons case.

Officials released a new picture of Celina and asked for help from the public in New Hampshire and surrounding states.

Family members recall that she was on the computer, around 9 pm and hasn’t been seen since. Family and friends say she was happy and wouldn’t have left home on her own. Her close friends describe her as a responsible student and friend.

Celina Cass’ Facebook page remains eerily live at the time of this news report, with her wall set for public viewing. A barrage of posts about her being in love could present further clues as the search for this young girl continues.

Friends of Missing Girl Say She Would Have Never Gone With Stranger

Some people who know 11-year-old Celina Cass said they are devastated that she disappeared from her home Monday night. But there’s one more thing that makes it even worse.

“She was very shy. If she didn’t know you she would look to her older sister to make sure you were okay,” said Kayla Baglio, 18.

So, some people find it hard to believe she would have run away, much less gone anywhere with somebody she didn’t know.

And that has some of them suddenly worrying about letting their children go out alone.

That’s an unusual thing in a village of 900 people where neighborly trust was the norm.

“We want to know, are our families safe,” said one mother, who declined to be identified.

That’s the only question senior assistant attorney general Jane Young answered during a news conference across from Celina’s home on Wednesday night.

“We would remind people and parents to remain vigilant at all times,” said Young who said state, local police and the now the F.B.I. were working hard to find the girl.
