[b]Burned body identified as missing Planada woman[/b
]Baby found left on doorstep
The charred human remains found in a Snelling orchard Thursday were positively identified Tuesday as that of a missing Planada woman. Also on Tuesday an infant baby boy was found on a door step in Le Grand and the Merced County Sheriff’s Department is trying to determine if it is the woman’s missing 2-month-old son.
The sheriff’s department identified the homicide victim as that of 26-year-old Ana Lila Diaz DeCeja. Sheriff spokesman Deputy Tom MacKenzie said the identification was made through dental records. A cause of death has not been determined and investigators are awaiting the results of a toxicology test.
DeCeja was last seen Thursday morning with her 2-month-old son Anthony Ceja-Diaz.
On Tuesday, a Le Grand resident discovered a crying baby left on a neighbor’s doorstep.
The baby was found in the 4000 block of Fresno Road in Le Grand.
The Le Grand man was leaving his home around 6:30 a.m. when he heard the distinct cries of a baby coming from his next door neighbor’s house.
The man went over to investigate and found an infant wrapped in a blanket and wedged between the front door and the security screen, MacKenzie said.
The man woke the residents of the house and they contacted the sheriff’s department.
“The homeowner has no idea who the child is or why anyone would leave the child there,” MacKenzie said.
The infant was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Merced for treatment of exposure. The baby is recovering in the hospital, MacKenzie said.
Investigators are working to identify the child by comparing footprints of Anthony’s and conducting a DNA test with family members.

Merced Sheriff's Department: Couple tried to sell baby boy
Car seat links Ceja-Diaz infant to one peddled by man and woman.
A couple seeking to sell a baby may be tied to an ongoing case of a missing mother and her baby, the Merced County Sheriff's Department's Major Crimes Division said Thursday.
Ana Lila Diaz DeCeja and her 2-month-old son, Anthony Ceja-Diaz, disappeared Dec. 2 from her home in the 1500 block of Plainsburg Road.
The first clue to possible baby theft came when a couple walking a path along Bear Creek and Parsons Avenue on Friday found a baby car seat.
Earlier that day, authorities had found the missing Chevrolet Avalanche with the baby car seat missing, but the base was still attached.
A witness has since reported that early Friday, near 27th Street and Midge Avenue, a man and a woman carrying a baby in a car seat asked if the individual "wanted to buy a baby," according to deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff's spokesman.

Arrests made in mom's slaying
Planada pair held; woman's body was found in Snelling orchard
.... On Dec. 7, the same day DeCeja's body was identified, an unidentified baby boy was found about 6:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Fresno Street in Le Grand.
The baby was on the doorstep of a house, wrapped in a blanket. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was treated for exposure.
Although the baby is said to resemble Anthony Ceja-Diaz, his identity hasn't been confirmed by the sheriff. Child Protective Services has custody of the infant.
When DeCeja disappeared, she had told family members she was going to a health clinic, but never returned home. DeCeja's husband reported her missing that night.
The cause of death is expected to be released today during the press conference. MacKenzie said, however, that the autopsy did show there was no indication DeCeja was alive when her body was burned.
"At least she was unresponsive when she was set on fire," he added.
If anyone has any information, call the Merced County Sheriff's Department at (209) 385-7472.

Some snippets from the press conference!
Merced Sheriff Mark Pazin during the press conference said that the female suspect Teresa Ceja Robles already had 3 children of her own aged 13, 11, and 8 years old!! The male suspect, Jose Augustine Velarde was their stepfather! The couple had brought baby Anthony Ceja-Diaz home and told the three siblings that their mother had just given birth to a baby boy, their new brother!!
They paniced when the media got hold of the story and they abandoned baby Anthony, Luckily he was heard crying and was taken in and cared for until the authorities arrived!! His core temperature at the time he was found was very low and it would only have been a matter of time until he died!!!
The couple told the other children that the baby had taken ill and had been admitted to hospital with the plan to tell them he had died a few days later!!!
Baby Anthony is still in the care of Child Protection Services and will remain there until DNA results come back in the next week, He will then be reunited with is father!!! Police are sure the child is Baby Anthony but they have to complete this task before handing him back to his family!!! Police are also sure that Baby Anthony's father had no involvement in the crime!!
The 3 children of Teresa Ceja Robles are also in the care of Child protection services!!!!
