Police say Kiesha's parents are suspects

Police investigating the disappearance of six-year-old western Sydney girl Kiesha Abrahams say her immediate family are all being treated as suspects.

It is a week today since the girl's mother reported her missing from their Mount Druitt home.

Police have suspended their ground search for Kiesha after spending the past week scouring parks, bushland, stormwater drains and local waterways.

Missing girl investigation widened‎

POLICE have entered the family home of missing six-year-old Kiesha Abrahams, according to press reports.
Reports said that the home has been surrounded with crime-scene tape and forensic investigators were in the house shared by the missing girl and her mother, her sister, her newborn brother and her stepfather.

earlier, Sydney police said they would widen their investigation into the disappearance by focusing on the death of her infant brother.

NSW homicide detectives on Sunday confirmed they would look at the case of baby Aiden Abrahams, who died in 2002 from an apparent cot death.

He was just six weeks old.

Aiden was the first child of Kristi Abrahams and Chris Weippeart, and was born about 16 months before the couple's second child, Kiesha.

Kiesha's brother's death not suspicious: Coroner‎

A spokeswoman for the New South Wales Coroner has confirmed there was a coronial investigation into the death of the brother of missing Sydney girl Kiesha Abrahams.

The ground search for the six-year-old from Mt Druitt has ended after more than a week and there is still no sign of her.

I saw Kiesha being bashed, witness says‎

Earlier yesterday Albert Lafaele, who runs a flea market at Hebersham on weekends, gave a statement to Mount Druitt police saying he believed he had seen Kiesha being bashed in the back of a car by a man.

''Backhands first, and then he got up and [he has] gone to town and gave her two punches,'' Mr Lafaele said.

He said the incident happened three or four weekends ago.

Kiesha's family hit back‎

The family of missing six-year-old Kiesha Abrahams today denied they had any involvement in her disappearance.

In a statement issued through a close family friend this afternoon, they reiterated their plea for anyone with any information to contact police.

"The family wish to deny the recent allegations in the media," the statement, read by Alison Anderson, said.
