Dame Helen Mirren to present BBC Radio 4 Appeal on behalf of Barnardo’s child sexual exploitation work

The award winning actress’s emotional appeal will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Easter Sunday, 4 April, at 7.55am and 9.26pm, and again on Thursday 8 April at 3.27pm.

Ms Mirren will tell the heart-wrenching story of a 13-year-old girl called Jess, caught in a horrific world of abuse and entrapment, but turning her life around with Barnardo’s cutting-edge help.

This abuse is insidious and calculated – girls like Jess are used and abused by someone they believe loves them. But with Barnardo’s specialist help children can escape and face their future with a renewed sense of hope and confidence.

Please support the appeal and help us protect more children like Jess…
