Which day Pam? Ringo has a red blanket and I can tie a red ribbon round his neck. I can manage a burgundy red for the day. Can everyone take a photo (minus face of course) and upload them - we can then make a collage of the members who are supporting Daniel's family.

Tezza - don't you have a red jumper or t-shirt? Even your England t-shirt would do for the day.

I forgot my red England t-shirt. I'll be happy to take a photo, minus my ugly mug.
But would it really be an appropriate attire, I'm wondering?

Yes, we need to have a date to do this.

How about also running a red banner across the top of index page on the same day in support of Daniel and his family???

I'm remember we ran a green one some time ago!!! So it is probably something Tezza could do easily!!!

Sorry, only just spotted this.
That is a great idea Twiglet!
I can do this very easily.

This year’s' Day for Daniel' is on Friday, October 29th. I am happy to change the background colour to red for the day.

Cops 'casual' towards missing teen‎

Queensland police were initially "casual" in their response to information that teenager Daniel Morcombe was missing, an inquest has been told.

Giving evidence in the Maroochydore Coroners Court on Monday, Daniel's father Bruce Morcombe said he and wife Denise were told to go home after reporting their son missing about 7.30pm on December 7, 2003.

Mr Morcombe said a male police officer took details but said they would not file a missing person's report until the following morning.

Bus driver 'refused to pick up' missing Daniel Morcombe‎

A WOMAN who was on the bus that passed Daniel Morcombe minutes before he vanished says she had an argument with the driver for not collecting him.
Witness Katherine Bird told the inquest into Daniel's suspected death that she saw him motioning to get on the bus while waiting under an overpass on the Nambour Connection Road, on the Sunshine Coast, but the bus did not stop.

Bus driver defends leaving Daniel at stop‎

A BUS driver has defended in court his decision not to pick up teenager Daniel Morcombe - who went missing minutes later - from the side of a Sunshine Coast road in December 2003.
Ross Edmonds told an inquest in the Maroochydore Coroners Court today into the suspected abduction of Daniel, 13, that he was ordered not to stop for any further passengers because his bus was already running 40 minutes behind schedule after an earlier breakdown.

"Why didn't you stop?" asked Peter Boyce, who is representing the Morcombe family.

"Because I was told not to," Mr Edmonds replied.

"I was ordered on the day to keep going on with the passengers (already on the bus), who'd been waiting long enough."

"It would have taken you no longer than 30 seconds to stop," Mr Boyce said.

"Exactly right mate, but that's what I was told to do," Mr Edmonds replied.

Daniel Morcombe seen with stranger at bus stop, inquest told‎

Giving evidence via phone in the Maroochydore Coroners Court on Tuesday, Katherine Bird said she saw Daniel, 13, standing under the Kiel Mountain overpass on the Sunshine Coast, trying to wave down the bus on December 7, 2003.

Ms Bird said the bus driver - who was running 40 minutes behind schedule after an earlier breakdown - drove straight past Daniel, after having been instructed to proceed directly to the Sunshine Plaza at Maroochydore.
Ms Bird said she complained to the driver, who threatened to kick her off the bus.

``I had words with him over not picking up the child at the bus stop ... I actually had an argument with him,'' she said.

``I was told to sit down, otherwise I would have been kicked off the bus.

``He said there was another bus five minutes behind that would pick him up.''

Ms Bird said the driver radioed the bus behind to tell him to collect the child at the overpass.
However, the inquest was told Daniel did not board that bus.

Daniel Morcombe was 'gone in 90 seconds', bus drivers tell inquest

.... Giving evidence at Maroochydore yesterday, Mr Norman said he had been driving a shuttle directed to look out for the boy at an unofficial bus stop near the Kiel Mountain Rd Overpass at Woombye.

He said he had been 800m behind the first bus driven by Ross Edmonds, whom he had ordered to go "express" to Sunshine Plaza when he was 45 minutes behind schedule because of a breakdown.

Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar.
.End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar.
"I told Ross I would finish the route, pick anyone up and give them a free ride to the plaza," Mr Norman said.

When Mr Edmonds saw the boy "waving his arm" to be picked up near the overpass, he drove on but called Mr Norman on the two-way to tell him.

Mr Norman said he picked up his radio and said: "Roger Ross, I'll get him."

He said he and a colleague travelling with him were only "a minute and a half" behind.

"I slowed down and we both looked. There was absolutely nothing there . . . nobody."
