Evelyn Miller's parents express determination to remain strong, retain hope for her speedy return

Evelyn was last seen at about 2 a.m. Friday, asleep on a love seat in her mother's apartment, Floyd County Sheriff Rick Lynch said.

When Noel Miller returned from work at 6:20 a.m., Miller's fiance, Casey Frederiksen, and Evelyn's siblings, Gabriel, 2, and Damian, 1, were sleeping. Evelyn was missing.

Noel Miller joined Evelyn's father, Andy Christie, at a news conference Tuesday afternoon, addressing both the community and their daughter.

Representatives of agencies involved in the search joined the family, providing updates at the 3 p.m. conference.

"We come to you as a family consumed by grief," said Noel Miller.

Indictment Stems From Images Allegedly On Frederiksen's PC

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The fiancé of Noel Miller, the mother of a 5-year-old girl who was found in the Cedar River, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography.

Evelyn Miller went missing July 1. Her body was found six days later.

On or about about July, Casey Frederiksen possessed computer images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to court documents.

Frederiksen was arrested by the U.S. Postal Inspection service Thursday night, according to a news release. He is set to appear in federal court Friday afternoon.

Frederiksen is also the subject of an ongoing murder investigation in Floyd County, according to the Floyd County attorney.

Child molester will remain in jail

Frederiksen to remain in custody before trial.

A federal prosecutor says Noel Miller's boyfriend, who's accused of possessing child porn, molested a girl when he was a teenager.

Cedar Rapids, Ia. — Casey Frederiksen was convicted as a juvenile of sexually molesting a girl, a federal prosecutor said Monday.

Frederiksen, 26, was ordered during a detention hearing to remain in the Linn County Jail until his trial on a child pornography charge.

Frederiksen lived with Noel Miller, the mother of 5-year-old Evelyn Miller, whose body was found July 6 in the Cedar River. He is the father of Evelyn's two younger brothers, who also lived in the apartment. Frederiksen was the only adult home July 1, when Evelyn was reported missing.

Floyd County authorities ruled Evelyn's death a homicide but have made no arrests in the case.

Man linked to Evelyn Miller to plead guilty in federal case

A man accused of lying during the investigation into the murder of 5-year-old Evelyn Miller is set to plead guilty in a federal case Nov. 27. Danny Slick, 27, and his friend Randy Patrie, 34, both of Charles City, were two of the last people known to have seen Evelyn before she disappeared on July 1, 2005, from her family's Floyd apartment.
