Andrew John THOMPSON was taken from Australia in April 2008 by Melinda Margaret THOMPSON(nee Melinda Margaret STRATTON). They flew from Sydney to Frankfurt(Germany) on a Singapore Airlines flight on 24th April 2008 and have not been seen or heardfrom since then. Both are Australian Citizens travelling on Australian passports. Grave concerns are held for Andrew's safety and well−being by his father,Australian Police, and Australian child protection authorities. Serious concerns are also held for Melinda THOMPSON's emotional well−being. Melinda THOMPSON speaks fluent German and English, and French.Andrew has fair hair and brown eyes. Ken Thompson joined our forum today. This is what he wrote:

My name is Ken Thompson and I live in Sydney, Australia.

In April 2008 my son Andrew John THOMPSON was abducted from Australia by his mother Melinda Margaret THOMPSON (AKA STRATTON). The abduction took place shortly after a court-ordered psychiatric report found she had an underlying mental state that causes her to form beliefs that aren't true and to the take extreme action.

Melinda fled with Andrew to Germany via Singapore. They immediately disappeared without trace. Andrew is now almost 5 years old.

Interpol Alerts have been issued for Andrew and Melinda in 187 countries and a warrant has been issued for Melinda's arrest. The Family Court of Australia has ordered that a warning must be issued in any publication about Andrew's abduction that his mother should not be approached if she is sighted and that the authorities should be notified immediately.

I am hoping that I can rasiee awareness about Andrew through this site. A website has been established at www.findandrew.com. It also contains a link to a Facebook Cause site that has been established for Andrew and I would like as many people as possible in as many countries as possible to visit both sites and to join Andrew's Cause.

After initially concentrating on Germany and the UK, I am now increasing my efforts to find Andrew in Spain.

'A World Apart' YouTube Video Seeking MySpace Support to Find Abducted & Missing Children‏

I have been collaborating with Stephen Watkins in Canada to produce a
short YouTube video.

The video asks the founder of MySpace (Tom Anderson) to send information
about Stephen's two children (Alexander and Christopher) who were
abducted from Canada, and my own son (Andrew) who was abducted from
Australia, to the almost 300 million members of MySpace.

The video also includes references to several other missing children
from around the world, as well as two international missing children
organisations.

The more people who view this video, the more likley it is that MySpace
will listen to our request. Please leave a message as well if you have
enough time.

Please help Stephen and me (and our children) by watching the video and
then forwarding the link to as many people as possible in as many
countries as possible.

Stephen Watkins and I have been working closely with Forever Searching in the UK and Help Find My Child in the UK on this project. If it comes off it will see the plights of all abducted and missing children placed before 300 million people all around the world.

If MySpace do what we are asking them to do, we are confident that other social networking groups such as FaceBook and Twitter will come on-board as well. This is a potential audience of about one billion people, or 1/6 of the world's population. This is an extraordinary amount of coverage that must increase the likelihood of many missing children being located.

What is needed right now is for as many people as possible to view this video from as many countries as possible to send the strongest possible message to MySpace. Anyone who is searching for a missing child should also leave a comment on the YouTube site.

We would be very grateful for any media coverage about this incredibly important issue that most people do not want to be confronted by. It's time for communities all over the world to take this issue as seriously as they take every other form of child abuse and every other form of breaches of basic human rights.
